  • Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures as needed.
  • Follow established protocols for IV contrast, oral contrast, stroke imaging, and emergency procedures.
  • Process images and prepare imaging CDs when requested.
  • Document patient and examination information in Epic, the radiology information system, and PACS.
  • Perform New York State and American College of Radiology quality-assurance testing and equipment calibrations.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked examination areas.
  • Identify malfunctioning equipment and report concerns to senior staff or biomedical engineering.
  • Communicate supply needs to department leadership.
  • Coordinate with patient transport when examinations are complete.
  • Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and departmental in-services.
  • Serve as an instructor or preceptor when assigned.
  • Follow all radiation physics, radiation-protection, patient-safety, and departmental standards.
  • Provide emergency, on-call, overtime, holiday, or alternate-shift coverage when required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited radiography certificate program, hospital-based program, or allied health education program.
  • Current New York State Department of Health Radiologic Technologist license or limited permit upon hire.
  • ARRT registration as a Radiologic Technologist with Radiography and/or CT certification, or current NMTCB certification.
  • Documented education and experience operating CT equipment.

  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of hire.
  • New York State Department of Health IV certification within 180 days of hire.
  • Ability to obtain advanced ARRT CT certification within one year of hire when not already certified.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. to midnight.
  • Availability for alternating weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to provide emergency, on-call, overtime, day, evening, or overnight coverage when needed.
  • Ability to maintain required continuing education credits.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or a related allied health field.
  • At least two years of imaging experience.
  • Current ARRT certification in Computed Tomography.
  • Current New York State IV certification.
  • Experience working in a hospital-based CT department.
  • Experience using Epic, radiology information systems, and PACS.
  • Experience assisting with CT-guided or other physician-led procedures.
  • Previous experience serving as a clinical instructor or preceptor.
