The opportunity
Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a student employee to fill the role of Marketing Program Assistant for our partner organization, Building Communities in New Hampshire in Manchester, NH.
Support Building Community in New Hampshire's marketing and communications efforts by creating and posting social media content (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), maintaining the website, drafting the e-newsletter, and providing general office support. This role includes occasional on-site event coverage to capture photos and video for the organization's marketing channels.
Job Responsibilities
- Create and publish engaging content for the organization's social media platforms, including photos, graphics, and short videos.
- Photograph and record video footage in the office and at occasional community events to support social media and marketing content.
- Update and maintain content on the organization's website, including program pages, event listings, and photos.
- Draft copy for the organization's e-newsletter and coordinate with staff to gather content.
- Provide general office support, including research and assisting staff with administrative tasks.
- Attend occasional community events to gather content and represent the organization in a professional manner.
- Organize and maintain a digital library of photos, videos, and marketing materials for ongoing use.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to ensure marketing materials align with the organization's brand and mission.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program
- Work study part of financial aid package
- Students with work study may be prioritized
- Reliable transportation
- Comfortable using a smartphone or camera to take photos and record and edit video.
- Experience with social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook.
- Strong written communication and proofreading skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Preferred (not required): experience with Canva, WordPress, or similar content tools; interest in marketing or nonprofit communications.

Work Schedule
20 hours/week; specific days/hours arranged with supervisor around the student's class schedule

Compensation
The hourly pay range for this position is $13.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
