School of Hospitality - Senior Lecturer (Capabilities & Industry Development)

[What you will be working on]

The School of Hospitality is seeking an experienced hospitality professional with expertise in hotel management, business development, and tech & innovation. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching and learning, drive hospitality transformation projects, develop strategic partnerships, and lead initiatives that enhance industry capabilities through technology and innovation.

Teaching & Learning
•    Teach and facilitate learning in hospitality-related modules, including hotel operations, guest experience management, hospitality technology, and service innovation.
•    Develop and review curriculum to ensure alignment with evolving industry needs and emerging technologies.
•    Mentor and supervise students in projects, internships, and industry-based learning activities.
•    Integrate industry practices, digital tools, and experiential learning approaches into teaching and assessment.

Hospitality & Digital Innovation Projects
•    Lead industry projects and consultancy initiatives focused on hotel operations, guest experience, and hospitality transformation.
•    Drive the adoption and application of emerging hospitality technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, data analytics and business intelligence, smart hotel and Internet of Things solutions, Property Management Systems, Customer Relationship Management platforms, and contactless guest experience technologies.
•    Identify, develop, and implement innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency, service quality, and customer experience.
•    Manage hospitality innovation and capability-development projects, including project planning, stakeholder engagement, resource coordination, risk management, and delivery of project outcomes.
•    Conduct applied research and collaborate with industry partners to address business challenges and support workforce transformation.

Business Development & Industry Engagement
•    Build and maintain partnerships with hotels, hospitality organisations, technology providers, and government agencies.
•    Identify and secure opportunities for consultancy, executive education, applied research, and collaborative industry projects.
•    Develop proposals, business cases, and partnership agreements.
•    Represent the School at industry forums, conferences, and networking events.

[What we are looking for]

•    Relevant qualification(s) in Hospitality Management, Hotel Administration, Tourism, Business, Information Systems, Digital Transformation, or a related discipline. A postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
•    At least 8 years of relevant industry experience in hotel management, hospitality consulting, hospitality technology, tourism, or a related sector.
•    Strong understanding of hotel operations and hospitality technologies.
•    Experience in hospitality digital transformation, smart hospitality solutions, AI applications, service innovation, or customer experience enhancement.
•    Proven track record in business development, industry engagement, and partnership management.
•    Strong project leadership and stakeholder management skills.
•    Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and relationship-building abilities.
