Shipping & Receiving Associate

Our client is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Associate to join their team. This position will be responsible for receiving incoming materials, preparing and shipping outgoing orders, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring materials are handled safely and efficiently.
Position Responsibilities
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
• Load and unload trucks and safely move materials throughout the facility.
• Prepare, package, label, and ship products and materials to customers and vendors.
• Verify quantities, part numbers, and shipping information for accuracy.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment as needed.
• Enter receiving and shipping information into company systems.
• Maintain accurate inventory and shipping/receiving records.
• Inspect incoming materials for damage and report discrepancies or damaged goods.
• Coordinate with purchasing, production, warehouse, and other departments to ensure timely movement of materials.
• Maintain an organized and clean shipping and receiving area.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with general warehouse and material-handling duties as needed.
Qualifications
• Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or material handling preferred.
• Ability to accurately read and interpret packing slips, purchase orders, and shipping documents.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory/shipping software.
• Ability to safely lift and move materials throughout the workday.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
• Forklift experience preferred; certification is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required.
• Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment.
• Comfortable working in a warehouse/manufacturing environment.
