How you’ll make an impact:
This role will make a direct impact on the success of our distribution center by ensuring our equipment, systems, and facility remain safe, reliable, and operational. Through strong leadership, proactive maintenance, and associate development, this position will help minimize downtime, improve equipment performance, and build a skilled maintenance team that supports the evolving needs of the business.
This role is based in our Braselton distribution center, an on-site work environment.
Essential Job Functions (60%)
- Serve as a primary onsite Maintenance and Facilities point of contact during assigned evening/night-shift hours, providing leadership and technical support to ensure safe and reliable facility operations.
- Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment throughout the 1.2 million-square-foot facility, utilizing internal and external resources as appropriate to minimize equipment downtime and operational disruption.
- Ensure appropriate staffing coverage to meet maintenance and facility demands while maintaining compliance with company policies, safety standards, work procedures, and housekeeping expectations.
- Assess critical daily operational needs, prioritize work assignments, delegate tasks, and communicate effectively with Operations and other business partners regarding equipment status, priorities, and potential impacts.
- Monitor and optimize machine control settings through the Warehouse Control System (WCS) to support equipment reliability, material flow, and production performance.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve equipment reliability, material flow, preventive maintenance practices, and material handling equipment performance.
- Collaborate effectively with internal business partners and provide timely communication regarding maintenance activities, business priorities, equipment concerns, and operational plans.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules for internal equipment and ensure work is appropriately assigned, completed, and documented.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of mechanical, electrical, controls, conveyor, sortation, and other automated material handling equipment issues.
Staff Management and Projects – 40%
- Serve as a working supervisor responsible for leading and supporting the evening/night-shift Maintenance and Facilities team, including approximately 4–5 Maintenance Technicians, 4 Utility Technicians, and 4 Custodians.
- Maintain flexibility to provide leadership coverage across assigned evening/night shifts based on business and department needs.
- Lead department performance related to warehouse equipment maintenance, equipment reliability, preventive maintenance completion, and technical skill development.
- Develop non-exempt associates through timely feedback, clear performance expectations, effective communication, training, coaching, and mentoring to support achievement of individual and departmental goals.
- Manage and support the development of Maintenance Technician Levels 1–3, including technical skill assessments, development planning, and progression opportunities.
- Support and manage the entry-level Maintenance Apprentice Program, including training, development, and performance monitoring.
- Prepare and deliver performance appraisals for direct reports and provide appropriate guidance regarding employee development and performance management.
- Address employee performance and conduct concerns through coaching and progressive discipline in partnership with Human Resources and in accordance with company policies.
- Manage employee timekeeping, scheduling, attendance, and related administrative responsibilities for direct reports.
- Participate in and lead maintenance, facility, equipment, and process-improvement projects as assigned.
Secondary Functions
- Provide support for special projects, equipment installations, facility initiatives, and other business needs as assigned.
- Perform other duties as necessary to support Maintenance, Facilities, and Distribution Center operations.

Must have:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, Industrial Systems, or a related technical field preferred.
- Five (5) or more years of maintenance experience within a highly automated distribution, fulfillment, manufacturing, or supply-chain environment; e-commerce or retail multi-channel experience preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or people-leadership experience, preferably within a distribution, fulfillment, manufacturing, or similarly complex operational environment.
- Demonstrated experience with conveyor, sortation, automated material handling, and facility maintenance systems required.
- Experience with WCS, PLCs, controls, CMMS, or similar maintenance and automation systems preferred.
Preferred skills and experience:
- Strong time-management, organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong working knowledge of maintenance processes and procedures within a highly automated distribution, fulfillment, manufacturing, or supply-chain environment.
- Working knowledge of automated material handling equipment, including unit sorters, shipping sorters, conveyor systems, put walls, and Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS).
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and maintaining conveyor and sortation systems.
- Working knowledge of facility systems and utilities, including electrical, gas, and water systems.
- Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), controls, and automated equipment systems preferred.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, develop, and hold employees accountable.
- Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance needs and make effective decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and maintenance-related systems; ability to perform applied mathematical calculations as required.
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards applicable to General Industry and demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
Physical and Work Demands
- Position requires periods of physical exertion, including walking, standing, stooping, bending, climbing, reaching, and lifting or moving materials and equipment.
- Must be able to safely navigate stairs, elevated work areas, and operational areas containing automated material handling equipment.
- Ability to work in a distribution center environment, working overtime and holidays as needed. Ability to lift/carry cases up to fifty pounds intermittently and ability to standing/walk for long periods with varying temperatures.
- Travel requirements are minimal.
