Summary of the role:
The Manager, Global Data & Analytics serves as a technical analytics leader within the Global Data organization, responsible for designing, building, and scaling enterprise analytics solutions that empower business teams across Merchandise Planning, Inventory Management, Operations, Supply Chain, and Merchandising.
This role combines people leadership with strong hands-on analytical execution. The individual will lead a team of analysts while actively contributing to data modeling, analytics solution design, dashboard development, and advanced analytical problem-solving using modern cloud data platforms.
This is not a pure people-management role. The successful candidate is expected to remain deeply engaged in technical delivery, architecture discussions, data modeling, SQL development, dashboard engineering, and analytical problem-solving while leading a high-performing analytics team.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain scalable analytics solutions that provide global visibility into planning, inventory, merchandising, and operational performance.
Lead the design and implementation of enterprise reporting and self-service analytics capabilities using Looker and Google Cloud Platform technologies.
Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable analytics products and data solutions.
Establish best practices for data modeling, metric definitions, dashboard governance, and analytics engineering.
Enable data-driven decision making through descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.
Drive consistency, quality, and trust in enterprise data assets through rigorous validation and governance processes.
Mentor and develop a team of analysts while remaining actively involved in technical delivery and solution development.
Leverage AI and advanced analytics capabilities to improve planning, inventory investment, forecasting, and operational decision-making.
Analytics Solution Development
Design, build, and maintain enterprise dashboards, scorecards, and reporting solutions supporting key business processes and executive decision-making.
Develop scalable semantic models, curated datasets, and reusable analytics assets to support self-service reporting.
Deliver analytics solutions using Looker, BigQuery, SQL, and Google Cloud Platform technologies.
Partner with Data Engineering teams to define data requirements, optimize data structures, and improve analytical performance.
Perform hands-on analysis of complex business problems and provide actionable recommendations supported by data.
Technical Leadership
Serve as the technical lead for analytics initiatives across planning, inventory management, merchandising, and operations.
Establish standards and best practices for dashboard design, KPI development, metric governance, and analytics engineering.
Drive adoption of modern analytics practices including cloud-native reporting, automated insights, data product development, and AI-enabled analytics.
Support architecture reviews and analytics solution design decisions to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance.
Champion data quality and ensure analytics outputs are accurate, consistent, and trusted by business stakeholders.
Hands-On Analytics & Engineering
Write and optimize complex SQL queries to support reporting, analytics, and ad hoc business requests.
Develop data models and analytical datasets within BigQuery to support scalable enterprise reporting.
Build and enhance Looker explores, dashboards, and semantic models.
Perform root cause analysis and deep dives into business performance drivers and operational metrics.
Collaborate with engineering teams to improve data pipelines, data accessibility, and analytics performance.
Support testing, validation, deployment, and user adoption of new analytics products and data assets.
Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop a team of analytics professionals.
Foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and innovation.
Balance strategic leadership responsibilities with direct technical contributions and solution delivery.
Provide guidance on analytical methodologies, data storytelling, and stakeholder engagement.
About you:
Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
Experience
7+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, analytics engineering, or data science.
2+ years of people leadership experience managing analytics or BI teams.
Experience building enterprise-scale analytics solutions on cloud data platforms.
Experience partnering with both business stakeholders and engineering teams to deliver analytics products.
Retail, supply chain, merchandising, planning, or inventory management experience is preferred.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
Advanced SQL skills with demonstrated experience developing complex analytical solutions.
Strong hands-on experience with Google BigQuery.
Strong experience building dashboards and semantic models using Looker.
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Proficiency in Python for data analysis, automation, and advanced analytics.
Experience designing data models, KPI frameworks, and analytics data marts.
Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
Experience working with large-scale datasets and enterprise reporting environments.
Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Preferred
Experience with LookML development.
Experience with dbt, Dataiku, Alteryx, or similar analytics engineering tools.
Experience developing predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions.
Knowledge of machine learning workflows and AI-enabled decision-support solutions.
Experience supporting enterprise-wide analytics transformation initiatives.
