About this role
Dow is looking for Asset Engineer to be located in Chennai, India.
The Asset Management Professional provides global support for master data management activities on SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) and Materials Management (MM) through the Maintenance Technology Center.
The engineer possesses strong expertise in Maintenance and Materials Master Data Management (MDM), including data creation, cleansing, classification, verification, validation, standardization, and enrichment activities. Demonstrates proficiency in managing ERP/CMMS master data in compliance with SAP PM and MM module standards, along with a solid understanding of global customer MDM practices and industry best practices.
This role should demonstrate strong accountability and commitment to delivering high-quality work while adhering to project schedules and timelines, be capable of developing and effectively populating the required deliverables with accuracy and completeness, and possess expanded conceptual and practical knowledge within their job discipline and continuously broadens their capabilities to handle increasing responsibilities and complex assignments.
Responsibilities
PLANT MAINTENANCE (SAP-PM) MANAGEMENT
- Master equipment list (MEL)/ asset register preparation & Physical asset verification, mark-up and As Built of P&ID
- Develop functional location (FLOC) & Develop Bill of Materials (BOM) for equipment.
- Review Recommendation of new spares from vendor documents and spare parts inter-changeability record (SPIR)
- PM Plan, maintenance item, task list, task list group & interpret and incorporate FMEA outputs with PM plan.
- PM spares against task list operations & Maintenance of Work-Pack preparation against work orders
MATERIALS MANAGEMENT (SAP-MM) MANAGEMENT
- Material creation in SAP MM using transaction codes & Cleansing, standardization, enrichment and de-duping.
- Materials Coding and Cataloguing, Coding logics as per MESC, UNSPSC standards
- Classification of materials based on noun and modifier (Class) concept with suitable attributes (Characteristic)
- Class, Characteristic master template creation and standardize & Classify materials as OEM, general and consumable spares.
- Review SPIR/SPDF with all related documents and establish operational spares for new projects & experienced in MRO spares criticality analysis.
- Define/ recommend stock and non-stock spares for different types of equipment.
- Inventory Optimization, define ROP/ MAX and ability to identify the equipment for no BOM linked materials.
- Perform Material Replenishment study for routine spares.
Additional Support
- Creates Equipment Reliability Strategies based upon Top Opportunity List, Critical Equipment List, and identified plant/business needs.
- Validates ERS implementation and closes gaps to improve/sustain reliability improvement.
- Evaluates effectiveness of individual aspects of the PPM program by showing quantitatively the impact of failures and Predictive Preventive Maintenance (PPM).
- Optimizes PPM activities, on an on-going basis, to support overall productivity improvements.
- Identifies and resolve Top Reliability Opportunities and decrease equipment failure losses in order to meet the site Product Supply Reliability improvement goals for the given year.
- Develops and maintains, as requested, a model that identifies the unit operations, equipment, process, etc. that identifies the value of opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree only in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5 to 10 years of working experience in Chemical/ Petrochemical plants plus reliability, maintenance, manufacturing or related experience required.
