Job Description
GALT Aerospace is seeking a full-time salaried Accounting Lead to support critical accounting operations and strengthen the department during continued company growth and an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system implementation.

The Accounting Lead will report directly to the Controller and work closely with the Senior Financial Systems Accountant and AP Manager. Initial responsibilities include assisting Accounts Payable processing to relieve the AP Manager and driving key components of the Costpoint implementation.

This role requires strong full-cycle accounting experience, government contracting knowledge, and the ability to work effectively in a high‑volume, deadline-driven environment.
o Support the full cycle of the month end closing process with proper journal entries and account reconciliations
o Contribute to monthly AP and credit card processing, recording, and reconciliations
o Generate, validate and submit customer invoices
o Support expense report processing and reconcile travel costs to projects and GL ledgers
o Validate and post labor cost distribution and reconcile labor cost to the payroll ledger
o Oversee payroll transactions and journal entries
o Support CPA reviews, DCAA audits and GAAP and FAR compliance
o Assist with policies and procedures reviews, updates or create new policies or procedures as needed
o Perform periodic financial analysis of indirect costs and variances to the budget
o Coordinate with Senior Financial Systems Accountant:
o Maintain Charge Code Authorization Process
o Manage Project structure, WBS and project assignments
o Leverage Unanet accounting system
o Work well with all other departments
o Assist with the annual budgeting process
o Understand and assist with the indirect rates tracking and variances
o Any other projects as assigned by the Controller

Required Skills, Experience, and Education
o BS or BA degree in accounting or finance preferred
o 7 + years of accounting experience
o Advanced MS Excel knowledge and skills
o US Citizen
o Knowledge and experience with all types of Government contracts (CPFF,FFP,T&M,other)
o Knowledge and experience with FAR, CAS and DCAA compliance
o Knowledge and experience WAWF/DFAS Government payment system and processes
o Knowledge of GAAP
o Great attention to detail
o Self-motivated and self-disciplined individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills, Experience and Education
o Familiarity with Unanet and or Costpoint ERP systems

Pay Scale
At GALT Aerospace, base pay is one part of the total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as one grows and develops within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $130,000-$150,000, and a specific candidate's base pay will depend on their skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
