As a Senior Manager your role will be to strengthen the Global Corporate Communications team at our headquarters in Berlin, Germany. Our team consists of communications experts on various topics ranging from fashion to technology and sustainability. In your role, you will work in the Operations team, covering all aspects of customer fulfilment that ensures an optimal shopping experience, such as payments, logistics, transportation and returns.

WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED

• You will develop and implement media campaigns and strategies to both proactively tell the convenience stories and mitigate potential risks to Zalando’s reputation. You will act as spokesperson for the operations topics with a focus in the German logistics network.

• Therefore, you know your target groups, have an established German media network, are able to boil down complex topics, craft compelling narratives and identify opportunities in the media. 

• You will work closely with your colleagues within Corporate Affairs (i.e. Public Affairs and Internal Communications) and act as a trusted adviser, partnering with relevant internal stakeholders across multiple disciplines and all management levels. 

• A strategic thinker and relationship builder, you steer multiple projects simultaneously and do not lose sight of your target in ambiguity. 

• You are a creative team player with entrepreneurial spirit and are driven to develop new ideas and fresh formats. 

• You identify potential risks and opportunities at an early stage and future proof the company's reputation through relevant communication measures.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Extensive (6+ years) relevant experience in Media Relations or journalism – ideally in corporate communications in a fast-paced environment and with a proven record in risk/crisis communication: You know how to handle sensitive topics confidently with media representatives and are experienced in strate gic communications.

• Excellent written and spoken German skills (native-speaker level) as well as excellent written and oral English language skills

• Strong sense of ownership and responsibility, innovation and attention to detail.

• Team player with excellent problem analytical skills, empathy, curiosity, creative thinking and strengths in execution.

• Confident in managing cross-functional processes and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
