Join our colleagues in bringing our Mission to life every single day to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. We provide our global teams with the resources needed to achieve individual career goals while helping to take science a step beyond by developing solutions for some of the world’s toughest challenges, like protecting the environment, making sure our food is safe or helping find cures for cancer.

DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a strategic, commercially driven leader to serve as Director, Global Product Management & Marketing for the Global Service and Support organization within Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Life Sciences Solutions Group. This leader will own the integrated growth agenda for GSS across service portfolio strategy, product management, market development, and global marketing. The role is accountable for translating service strategy into measurable commercial outcomes, including service revenue growth, contract penetration, renewal performance, value-added services adoption, campaign ROI, customer value, and margin expansion. The ideal candidate is a service growth leader who can direct through strong functional leaders, connect strategy to outcomes, and build a scalable growth engine across a global, matrixed organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Growth Strategy & Portfolio Leadership

  • Lead the annual and long-range GSS growth agenda, using customer insights, install base analytics, market trends, competitive intelligence, and regional input to define priorities, investment choices, and execution plans.

  • Own global service portfolio strategy, including lifecycle management, roadmap prioritization, new offering development, launch readiness, pricing logic, profitability, and retirement decisions.

  • Ensure service offerings have clear target segments, value propositions, commercial actions, operational readiness, margin expectations, and measurable business impact.

Market Development & Marketing Operations

  • Align global marketing, regional market development, product management, and service sales around prioritized campaigns, target segments, customer narratives, and measurable growth plays.

  • Establish KPIs and operating rhythms that connect campaign activity, pipeline quality, sales execution, renewal performance, service revenue growth, customer adoption, and margin impact.

Leadership & Stakeholder Alignment

  • Lead and develop functional leaders across Product Management, Global Marketing / Regional Market Development, Market Development Strategy, and Marketing Operations.

  • Build an integrated operating model with clear decision rights, performance metrics, operating cadence, and accountability across the GSS growth organization.

  • Influence across a global matrix, partnering with service sales, regional service leaders, business unit leadership, finance, operations, technical support, IT, legal, and regulatory teams.

Success Measures:

The successful candidate will be expected to deliver measurable impact in the following areas:

  • Service revenue growth, margin expansion, contract penetration, renewal performance, and total value capture across the installed base.

  • Value-added services revenue, adoption, attach rate, customer impact, and margin contribution.

  • Portfolio profitability, mix improvement, lifecycle discipline, and launch effectiveness.

  • Campaign ROI, qualified pipeline generation, lead conversion, regional adoption, and commercial execution consistency.

  • Pricing discipline, funnel quality, and operating leverage through automation, standardization, and AI adoption.

  • Team engagement, talent development, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness.

REQUIRMENTS:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in product management, marketing, and/or market development.

  • Demonstrated success leading through functional leaders in a large, complex, global, matrixed organization.

  • Strong understanding of service business models, including service contracts, customer support, field service, technical support, or value-added services.

  • Proven ability to develop, commercialize, and scale offerings that drive revenue growth, margin expansion, customer value, and repeatable adoption.

  • Strong commercial acumen, including pricing, segmentation, funnel management, sales enablement, renewal improvement, value proposition development, and installed-base monetization.

  • Demonstrated ability to use data, customer insights, market intelligence, financial analysis, and business performance metrics to shape strategy and drive execution.

  • Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, influencing, financial, and talent leadership skills.

Preferred:

  • MBA or advanced degree in business, marketing, science, engineering, or related field.

  • Experience in life sciences, diagnostics, analytical instruments, biotechnology, laboratory services, healthcare, medtech, industrial technology, enterprise software, semiconductor equipment, aerospace, or other technical B2B service environments.

  • Experience with funnel velocity discipline, sales enablement, digital service models, remote support, predictive maintenance, AI-enabled workflows, automation, or customer self-service.

  • Global experience across North America, Europe, China, and emerging markets, including regulated, scientific, technical, or mission-critical customer environments.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Growth GM mindset: Connects portfolio, marketing, sales execution, and service delivery into a measurable growth system.

  • Installed-base monetization: Knows how to grow recurring revenue, contract penetration, renewals, and value-added services from an existing customer base.

  • Commercial intensity: Brings a strong bias toward revenue growth, margin expansion, customer value, and measurable business outcomes.

  • Service portfolio discipline: Manages lifecycle, roadmap priorities, investment tradeoffs, launch readiness, profitability, and product mix.

  • Value-added Services scalability: Moves expert-led work toward repeatable, packageable, margin-accretive services.

  • Execution governance: Builds operating cadences, KPIs, dashboards, and decision rights that drive accountability and behavior change.

  • Global agility and digital orientation: Balances global standards with regional customization while using AI, automation, analytics, and digital workflows to create scale.

  • Leadership through leaders: Develops strong functional leaders, aligns competing priorities, and builds a high-performing, engaged team.
