Reporting to the Vice President - Innovation, the Global Director, Product Management is responsible for leading Trojan’s global product management strategy and portfolio priorities to drive growth, margin expansion, customer value creation and sustainability goals. The Global Director, Product Management leads a global Product Management team and works cross-functionally with Commercial, Innovation, Engineering, Operations, Service, Marketing, and Finance to translate customer and market insight into product strategy, roadmap priorities, commercialization plans, and lifecycle actions.
Success in this role is measured by incremental pipeline value, revenue, product gross margin, launch effectiveness, portfolio optimization, quality performance, and the development of a high-performing team. The role partners closely with regional commercial leaders and functional stakeholders to prioritize growth opportunities, strengthen market positioning, and ensure the portfolio remains aligned to customer needs, competitive dynamics, and regulatory requirements across municipal, industrial, and residential water markets.
This role is responsible for product portfolio strategy, commercialization priorities, and lifecycle decisions, in close partnership with the Technology function, which leads technology roadmap and development governance.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
- Define and lead Trojan’s global product management operating cadence and portfolio priorities to deliver growth, margin expansion, and differentiated customer value
- Drive product portfolio priorities and commercial requirements for portfolio investments, partnering with Technology and Engineering through the TG0–TG6 process to focus resources on the highest-value growth opportunities
- Build, coach, and develop a high-performing global Product Management organization with strong accountability, engagement, and talent development
- Lead portfolio performance across growth, price, quality, lifecycle, and profitability dimensions, including lifecycle and rationalization decisions to achieve target growth from innovation
- Partner across Commercial, Innovation, Technology, Engineering, Operations, Service, Marketing, and Finance to align roadmap priorities and execute growth initiatives effectively
- Lead market-based opportunity assessment, value proposition definition, and commercial input to product business cases using voice of customer, market trends, competitive intelligence, and regional input
- Improve commercialization and launch execution in partnership with regional commercial teams, strengthening value propositions, pricing, specifications, and customer adoption
- Champion fact-based decision making, continuous improvement, and internal tools to improve portfolio performance measured by innovation metrics including incremental pipeline value (IPV), incremental revenue value (IRV), revenue achievement (RA).
- Support inorganic growth with focus on differentiated defensible value, portfolio fit, and sustainable growth aligned with Trojan’s long-term growth strategy; engaging in diligence and integration of target companies as needed to achieve the ROIC
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in product management, product development, portfolio management, marketing, or commercialization, including leadership experience in a matrixed environment
- Demonstrated success developing and implementing product and commercialization strategies that deliver sustained growth and margin expansion
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders across commercial, technical, and operational functions in a global environment
- Strong capability in market analysis, business case development, prioritization, and translating customer needs into differentiated product requirements
- Ability to travel globally as required; up to 25%
