Your role at Baxter
The Senior Human Resources Business Partner plays a meaningful role in driving the execution of Baxter’s people strategy. This work is within the assigned business and functional areas of the Cartago manufacturing site. This position partners closely with functional leaders to translate business priorities into effective talent, culture, organizational and employee experience initiatives across a complex, multi-shift operation.
As a trusted advisor to managers and supervisors, the Senior HRBP owns the implementation of HR programs related to talent management, employee relations, organizational efficiency improvement, workforce planning and change management, while guaranteeing adherence to labor regulations and company policies.
The role involves operational execution and critical thinking. It serves as a key member of the site’s HR team. It helps build a high-performing culture and develop organizational capabilities for long-term success.
Reports directly to the Senior Manager, Human Resources. This role is based onsite and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work arrangements.

What you'll do
Business Partnership & Organizational Efficiency
We partner with business leaders to understand operational priorities and translate them into people strategies and actions.
We support workforce planning, organizational design and talent deployment initiatives.
We analyze workforce trends and HR metrics to identify risks and opportunities and drive data-based decisions.
We facilitate organizational changes and support leaders through periods of transformation.
Talent & Leadership Development
We partner with managers to identify talent, succession needs, and areas for professional progress.
We support performance management, career development and talent review processes.
We mentor leaders on people management practices and improving organizational efficiency.
We contribute to the development of high-performing teams and leadership capabilities.
Employee Relations & Culture
We provide support and mentorship on employee relations matters, conflict resolution and labor law compliance.
We promote an inclusive, ethical and results-focused culture aligned with Baxter values.
We lead initiatives to strengthen employee engagement and workforce happiness.
We support investigations and recommend appropriate actions when needed.
HR Operations & Program Execution
We complete HR programs and corporate initiatives while ensuring alignment with business needs.
We partner with Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Payroll and Centers of Excellence.
We lead compliance with labor regulations, as well as company guidelines.
We assess the efficiency of HR initiatives and recommend improvements.
What you will bring
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
5+ years of experience as HRBP with solid knowledge of employee relations, Costa Rica labor law and talent management.
Having spent 10 years working in HR is desired.
English B2+ or higher is a must.
Experience in the medical device, healthcare or life sciences industry, a plus if supporting manufacturing or operational environments preferred.
Experience supporting large hourly populations in a multi-shift environment, knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies are preferred.
Experience working with HR systems such as Workday.
