The Health, Safety, and Environment Office is dedicated to maintaining a safe and sustainable campus. We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented team player to join the Health, Safety and Environment Field Team as a Health, Safety and Environment Officer. The appointee will assist in the implementation of University safety policies by conducting risk assessments for a range of physical, chemical, biological and ergonomic hazards encountered in teaching, research and operational activities. Key duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Conduct safety inspections and exposure assessments;
- Prescribe appropriate hazard control measures and support safe work practices;
- Provide safety training and guidance to stakeholders;
- Collect occupational and environmental samples;
- Manage, analyze and report environment, health and safety data and manage the database and e-platform;
- Respond to emergencies during both office and non-office hours, including rotational on-call duties;
- Investigate accidents and incidents; and
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Applicants should have:
- a relevant degree in science, engineering, occupational health and safety, occupational hygiene, or a related discipline, preferably with at least two years of relevant post-qualification experience;
- a good command of both written and spoken Chinese and English;
- research experience, which would be highly desirable; and
- familiarity with Microsoft applications, including Microsoft Office and tools such as Microsoft Lists, Power Apps and Power BI (e.g., for data reporting, dashboard development, and data visualization).

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
