Role Overview

As a Drafter, you will plan, direct, and execute basic design projects tied to new product development, redesign of existing products, and production modifications. You will also support CAD deliverables to the customer, layout and packaging coordination, release coordination using EPIC, and CAD studies while working closely with engineers, project managers, and other design team members.

What will you do?

  • Plan and execute basic design projects related to new product development, redesigns, and production modifications.
  • Prepare and support CAD deliverables for internal stakeholders and customer-facing needs as assigned.
  • Coordinate layout and packaging work to support product build requirements and design intent.
  • Manage release coordination activities using EPIC and help ensure documentation is complete and ready for release.
  • Perform CAD studies that support design decisions, project execution, and product improvement.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and design team members to resolve scope gaps and keep work moving forward.
  • Monitor project risks and communicate changes or concerns early so timelines and deliverables remain on track.
  • Support accurate, organized, and release-ready design output that contributes to successful product builds.

How will you do it?

  • Take ownership of your work with accountability, accuracy, and integrity from concept through release.
  • Stay close to the work by clarifying expectations early, asking the right questions, and removing obstacles before they affect delivery.
  • Use practical problem-solving and continuous improvement to identify design gaps, resolve issues, and strengthen each deliverable.
  • Work as one team with engineers, project managers, and fellow designers by sharing information openly and respecting different perspectives.

What are we looking for?

  • University degree with a suggested minimum of 1 year of experience, or a 2 year degree with a suggested minimum of 6 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience supporting basic design or drafting work in a product development, redesign, or production modification environment.
  • Working knowledge of CAD-based documentation and release processes.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, manage details carefully, and support work that requires accuracy and follow-through.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and changing design requirements.

Nice to Have

  • Proficiency with CREO.
  • Experience with system or large assembly layouts.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal construction, drawing best practices, and DFM.
  • Experience with PDM-related file management processes.

What do we offer?

  • Comprehensive benefits package.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • Supportive and inclusive work environment.
  • Commitment to work-life balance and employee well-being.
  • Engagement in meaningful projects that make a difference.
