Description
Join our Insurance Technology Team!
Our Value Stream is modernizing advisor- and client-facing platforms and technologies to provide our customers and business partners with secure, reliable, dynamic, and efficient digital experiences.
We are looking for a Business Systems Analyst who enjoys connecting business needs with technology solutions. You will work across product, engineering, architecture, quality engineering, and other technology teams to translate business needs into clear technical requirements, assess impacts across interconnected systems, and help deliver solutions supporting our Insurance and Investment capabilities.
You will have an active role throughout the delivery lifecycle, from requirements analysis and solution design through implementation and validation. You will be part of a collaborative Agile team where we solve complex problems and continuously look for ways to improve how we deliver value.
Position Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business and technology partners to understand objectives, clarify requirements, and assess potential impacts across systems and processes.
- Analyze high-level solution designs and translate them into clear technical requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation.
- Assess upstream, downstream, integration, and system impacts to help ensure solutions address business requirements, technical dependencies, and delivery risks.
- Leverage AI-enabled tools and practices to enhance requirements discovery, analysis, documentation, and solution design, while validating outputs for accuracy, compliance, and alignment with business objectives.
- Partner with product, engineers, architects, Quality Engineers, and other analysts to support solution design and successful implementation.
- Manage requirements, dependencies, and priorities across multiple concurrent initiatives and support incremental delivery within an Agile environment.
- Create and maintain the artifacts needed to support implementation, including user stories, requirements, acceptance criteria, test results, approvals, and system documentation.
- Perform functional testing, validate expected outcomes, and collaborate with team members to investigate defects and identify root causes.
- Identify opportunities to improve system effectiveness and strengthen analysis, documentation, and delivery practices.
- Maintain clear and organized system documentation to support ongoing development, delivery, and team knowledge.
- Share knowledge and effective practices with team members to strengthen analysis, collaboration, and delivery across the team.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years proven track record as a Business System, or Technical Analyst, or as a Quality or Software Engineer.
- Demonstrated experience in business systems analysis, technical analysis, or a related technology role, with experience translating business and technical needs into implementable solutions.
- Strong analytical, technical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through complex business and system requirements.
- Experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting requirements and translating them into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Ability to understand technical designs, system interactions, dependencies, and potential downstream impacts.
- Experience supporting solutions through the delivery lifecycle, including requirements analysis, implementation, validation, and defect resolution.
- Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to distinguish critical business requirements from lower-priority needs and help balance business value, development effort, technical constraints, and risk.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, including the ability to manage priorities and dependencies across multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Experience collaborating effectively with product, engineering, architecture, quality engineering, and other technology partners.
- Experience working within an Agile delivery environment and with tools such as Jira and Confluence, or comparable platforms.
- Ability to learn new business processes, technologies, and tools and apply that knowledge effectively.
- Willingness to share knowledge and support others in analysis, documentation, and collaboration practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working with microservices, APIs, or complex integrated enterprise applications.
- Experience within Insurance, Financial Services, or Investment technology environments.
- Experience with functional testing, defect analysis, or root-cause analysis.
- Experience applying AI-assisted techniques to research, requirements discovery, analysis, documentation, or solution design.
- Experience with tools and practices supporting requirements management, system analysis, and technical documentation.
When you join our team:
- We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want.
- We’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words.
- As part of our global team, we’ll support you in shaping the future you want to see.
