Strategic Sourcing Specialist

Location: Cary, IL | Full-Time | 100% Onsite

Prequel Solutions is recruiting for a Strategic Sourcing Specialist with an established, fast-growing manufacturing company in the Cary, IL area.

This is a hands-on role focused on developing supplier relationships, improving sourcing strategies and ensuring the availability of critical materials and components to support manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and develop new suppliers for manufactured components and materials.
• Lead supplier negotiations involving pricing, lead times, quality and delivery.
• Develop alternative and secondary suppliers to reduce supply chain risks.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive improvements in cost, quality and reliability.
• Partner with engineering, manufacturing and purchasing teams to address sourcing challenges.
• Support day-to-day purchasing activities as needed.

Ideal Background

• Experience in strategic sourcing, procurement or supplier development within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated success negotiating with suppliers and developing new sources.
• Experience sourcing machined components, metals or engineered materials is a plus.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and supplier relationship management skills.
