Position Summary:
Maintains Gordon Food Service (GFS) warehouse receiving schedule for dry, frozen or perishable products. May be required to assign loads to doors, balances, purchase orders and process freight handling, billing and payments.
Essential Functions:
- Schedules vendor freight deliveries in accordance with warehouse capabilities and inventory need.
- Designated by Division: May be required to
-Communicates GFS Receiving Procedures and ensures inbound driver check in is complete.
-Assigns trailers to dock doors.
-Accurately processes the freight handling billing and payments.
- Assigns trailers to dock doors.
- Enters and balances purchase orders.
- Enters various other data and records truck performance.
- Completes housekeeping activities on a daily basis.
- Adheres to the mission and cornerstone values and applicable practices of the organization.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Must be able to communicate clearly in a professional manner.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
- Must be able to work independently or within a team environment.
- Must adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations
Educational & Experience Requirements
- Preferred High School / Equivalent Minimum Years of Experience: None Required, prior experience preferred.
