This role will support Software Development, Corporate IT, and business/practice resources across the US and India. Under guidance from senior team members, you will participate in the analytics delivery lifecycle, including requirements support, data analysis, data preparation, report development, testing, documentation, deployment support, and production issue remediation.
You will help build and maintain data pipelines, datasets, semantic models, dashboards, and reports that enable data-driven decision-making across Huron. You will also support data validation, documentation, and quality assurance activities to ensure solutions are accurate, secure, reusable, and aligned with Huron’s enterprise platforms, delivery standards, and compliance expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, development, testing, and support of Data & Analytics solutions, including data pipelines, data models, datasets, dashboards, and reports.
- Support ETL/ELT development activities, including data extraction, transformation, loading, mapping, reconciliation, and validation.
- Write and maintain basic to intermediate SQL queries and Python scripts to support data preparation, automation, validation, and reporting needs.
- Support development of Microsoft Power BI reports and dashboards using approved design standards, data models, visuals, slicers, filters, and basic DAX calculations.
- Assist in building Power BI semantic models by understanding source tables, relationships, joins, business grain, measures, dimensions, and reporting requirements.
- Work with data sourced from cloud platforms, databases, and Databricks to support reporting and analytical use cases.
- Participate in requirements discussions with project teams and business stakeholders; document reporting needs, data definitions, assumptions, and open questions.
- Support QA and testing activities, including unit testing, report validation, data comparison, UAT support, defect documentation, and issue remediation.
- Help troubleshoot basic data refresh, visualization, access, data quality, and report performance issues, escalating more complex problems to senior team members.
- Maintain clear documentation, including technical notes, data mappings, report logic, test evidence, user guides, and operational support instructions.
- Follow Huron procedures for handling confidential, proprietary, company, and client data.
- Collaborate with offshore and onshore team members across time zones, contributing to team meetings, status updates, sprint ceremonies, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Use approved productivity and AI-enabled tools responsibly where applicable to support documentation, analysis, testing, and issue investigation, while validating outputs before use.
- Contribute to team processes and reusable assets that improve delivery quality, reporting consistency, and operational efficiency.
- Perform other projects and support tasks as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in data engineering, analytics, business intelligence, reporting, software development, or related project work.
- Foundational understanding of relational databases, SQL querying, joins, data models, and reporting concepts.
- Exposure to ETL/ELT concepts, data mapping, data quality checks, data warehousing, data lakes, or Lakehouse platforms.
- Basic experience or coursework in Python, SQL, and Microsoft Power BI.
- Exposure to Power BI report development, dashboard design, data visualization, semantic modeling, and introductory DAX.
- Familiarity with cloud or analytics platforms such as Azure Data Factory, AWS S3, AWS Glue, Redshift, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar technologies is preferred.
- Familiarity with Git, Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar work tracking/version control tools is preferred.
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into clearly documented data, reporting, and testing tasks with support.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to validate data thoroughly before sharing deliverables.
- Ability to manage assigned tasks, ask clarifying questions, communicate blockers early, and follow through on action items.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
