Role Overview:
An Enterprise Architect is required for our higher education client to work on a specific programme which is a major internal digital transformation project.
The programme will focus on replacing their legacy student management system with a new student records management system which will improve the overall student journey.
As the Enterprise Architect you will provides strategic technical leadership across the client's application, data, and integration landscape.
The role is responsible for defining and maintaining the enterprise architecture framework, ensuring that technology investments align with institutional strategy, architectural principles, security standards, and long-term sustainability objectives.
You will work closely with their digital transformation, systems development, infrastructure, data and business stakeholders to provide architectural oversight for major initiatives, advise on solution design, and ensure coherent evolution of the client's systems estate.
Essential Skills & Experience required:
Degree qualified or equivalent demonstrable experience as an Enterprise Architect
TOGAF or equivalent certification or demonstrable enterprise architecture experience
Extensive experience in enterprise, solution, or application architecture within complex organisations
Experience designing integration architectures and data exchange frameworks
Experience aligning technology strategy with business transformation initiatives
Experience working with cloud-based platforms and modern application architectures
Ability to translate business strategy into technical architecture
Experience operating within governance-driven or regulated environments
Previous experience of working within the Higher Education sector is desirable/advantageous
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
Responsibilities include:
To define and maintain the Client's enterprise architecture principles, standards, and target-state architecture.
Provide architectural oversight and design assurance for major programmes and projects.
Ensure alignment between business strategy, application architecture, data architecture, and integration patterns.
Advise on technology selection, integration approaches, and technical risk mitigation.
Promote architectural consistency, sustainability, and security across the systems landscape.
Contribute to digital investment governance and long-term technology roadmap planning.
Ensure compliance with relevant security, regulatory, and information governance standards.
