Description
Wilkes University invites applicants for a full-time Locksmith position (Monday thru Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm) in the Campus Support Services Department. Applicant must be fully committed to providing quality service to our students, faculty and staff.
The successful candidate is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing electronic lock systems, door checks/closers and panic exit devices, along with all other types of door hardware. He must have the ability to make keys and cores. He also maintains constructs and performs major or minor carpentry repairs, renovations, alterations and installations of building structures, components, millwork items and furnishings. Practical knowledge of all trades, assisting with predictive and preventative maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems and machinery, as well as seasonal snow removal is required. On call status is required with a reasonable response time.
A high school diploma or GED and a valid PA driver's license are required. A minimum of five (5) years prior experience in all aspects of the lock tech/carpentry field along with practical knowledge of various trades, i.e. electrical, plumbing and painting is preferred. The candidate is required to have proficient technical skills to perform associated tasks, the ability to lift 50 lbs. and to read and comprehend safety regulations and other documentation pertinent to the position. Basic knowledge of computers (Word, Excel and web based applications) strongly preferred. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
