Director of Ministry & Development - FaithCare

 

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Director of Ministry & Development is a highly relational, entrepreneurial, outward-facing leadership role and one of FaithCare's primary ambassadors.

  The Director will build relationships, communicate FaithCare's mission, develop financial resources, strengthen churches and chapters, engage healthcare professionals, and create new ministry opportunities. The COO provides the organizational systems, infrastructure, coordination, and accountability needed to support this growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Development & Fundraising — Primary Responsibility

•      Develop and execute a relationship-based fundraising strategy.

•      Cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and prospective donors.

•      Develop relationships with churches, corporations, foundations, and other philanthropic partners.

•      Create individualized donor cultivation and stewardship plans.

•      Coordinate appeals, campaigns, planned giving, donor visits, and visionary trips.

•      Track development activity, opportunities, commitments, and results.

2. Church & Ministry Relationships

•      Serve as a primary representative to churches throughout the United States.

•      Speak in at least 15 churches annually.

•      Build relationships with pastors, church leaders, mission committees, and congregations.

•      Develop and strengthen long-term church partnerships.

•      Create opportunities for missions, financial support, prayer, and volunteering.

•      Identify and mentor potential future leaders, donors, volunteers, and Board members.

3. Storytelling & Visibility

•      Serve as a compelling storyteller and public representative for FaithCare.

•      Communicate FaithCare's mission and impact through presentations, newsletters, digital media, social media, and donor communications.

•      Increase national and international awareness of FaithCare.

•      Share compelling stories while maintaining dignity, sensitivity, and confidentiality.

4. Chapter Development

•      Strengthen existing FaithCare Chapters and reinvigorate inactive chapters.

•      Support development of new U.S. and international chapters.

•      Help chapters move toward greater sustainability and self-support.

•      Develop relationships with chapter leaders and identify emerging leaders.

5. Clinics, Medical Missions & Healthcare Engagement

•      Promote FaithCare's clinics, hospitals, and medical mission programs.

•      Build financial, professional, volunteer, and community support.

•      Recruit physicians, nurses, healthcare professionals, students, residents, missionaries, and volunteers.

•      Support international medical initiatives and participate in selected international trips.

•      Help communicate the impact of approximately 5–6 international medical mission trips annually.

6. Events & Professional Partnerships

•      Support relationship-building for FaithCare's annual banquet/conference and additional fundraising events.

•      Develop donor, church, community, and small-group engagement opportunities.

•      Build relationships with medical schools, residency programs, health systems, professional organizations, and healthcare professionals.

•      Support FaithCare's educational initiatives, including the Global Health Conference and Fellowship in Care to the Needy.

7. Accountability & Relationship Management

•      Establish annual goals with the COO.

•      Maintain records of donor, church, chapter, and partner relationships.

•      Provide regular reports on activities, relationships, opportunities, and outcomes.

•      Track progress toward fundraising and relationship-development goals.

•      Work collaboratively with staff, committees, and leadership.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

•      Strong personal commitment to Jesus Christ and alignment with FaithCare's Christian mission and statement of faith.

•      Proven ability to build authentic, long-term relationships.

•      Fundraising and donor-development experience.

•      Excellent public-speaking, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.

•      Comfortable speaking in churches and to groups of varying sizes.

•      Experience with donors, churches, nonprofits, ministries, healthcare, or community organizations.

•      Strong organization, follow-through, and independent judgment.

•      Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

•      Comfortable working in a highly relational and entrepreneurial environment.

•      Nonprofit development, ministry, medical mission, or international experience strongly preferred.
