University Laboratory School
Database and Student Information Systems Manager
Job Responsibilities:
35% Student Information System Administration
Serve as the primary administrator and subject-matter expert for the University Laboratory School Student Information System (SIS) and associated data applications; Configure and maintain student records, enrollment structures, calendars, grading systems, attendance, schedules, transcripts, programs, permissions, workflows, and other SIS functionality; Manage system updates, releases, patches, configuration changes, and vendor communications; Evaluate new SIS features and recommend enhancements that improve school operations and user experience; Maintain system documentation, configuration standards, procedures, and data dictionaries; Provide technical and functional support to SIS users; Train administrators, teachers, counselors, and other staff on SIS functionality and data procedures; Develop user guides, quick-reference materials, FAQs, and training resources; Identify recurring support issues and implement solutions that reduce errors and improve efficiency; Serve as a liaison between users, technology staff, and SIS vendor.
35% Data Integrity & Database Management
Establish and monitor procedures that ensure student and school data are accurate, complete, consistent, and timely; Develop data-validation processes, audits, exception reports, and reconciliation procedures; Investigate and resolve data-quality issues and discrepancies; Manage data imports, exports, bulk updates, and database maintenance activities; Establish appropriate standards for data ownership, definitions, retention, and lifecycle management; Support data conversion and migration projects when systems are implemented, replaced, or upgraded; Manage integrations between the SIS and other systems, such as learning management systems, assessment platforms, food services, and identity-management systems; Monitor automated data exchanges and resolve failed or inaccurate transactions; Work with vendors and internal technical staff to troubleshoot APIs, interfaces, data feeds, and file transfers; Document integration requirements, dependencies, and procedures.
20% Reporting and Data Analytics
Develop, maintain, and distribute operational, administrative, instructional, and athletic compliance and eligibility reports; Create dashboards and data extracts to support enrollment, attendance, academic performance, staffing, scheduling, and other school needs; Translate stakeholder requirements into reliable reports and actionable data solutions; Manage the submission of all state, federal, accreditation, and other required reporting; Ensure reports use consistent definitions and validated data.
10% Other Duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Educational Technology or related field
Three to five years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, Educational Technology or related field
