By joining the GI Service team in Germany (GI Service) you are responsible for carrying out the planned maintenance and servicing work of the automation, communication and safety systems as well as all other electrotechnical systems on converter stations as well as offshore platforms.
The opportunity
High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) is a key enabler for a carbon-neutral energy system. It is highly efficient for transmitting large amounts of electricity over long distances, integration of renewables and interconnecting grids, opening for new sustainable transmission solutions.
In the field of service for high-voltage direct current transmission systems (HVDC), you will be part of our HVDC service team (DEHVDC) and responsible for carrying out the planned maintenance and servicing work of the automation, communication and safety systems as well as all other electrotechnical systems on converter stations as well as offshore platforms.
The fascinating and challenging projects are in Germany and several other countries e.g. Democratic Republic of Congo and in the North- and Baltic Sea.

How you'll make an impact
Maintenance and repair of the high and low voltage equipment as well as other components of the HVDC platforms and converter stations
Short-term troubleshooting of the plant
Documentation of the activities carried out by means of maintenance software
Without exception, you will take into account our internal safety specifications as well as the relevant statutory safety regulations and those of the respective customer
You supervise contracted service providers within the scope of maintenance and inspect the work and services performed
Your background
You have successfully completed an apprenticeship as an electronics technician for industrial engineering, energy & building services engineering, automation technology of mechatronics.
Ideally, you have deepened your expertise through further training as a technician or master craftsman
You see yourself as a self-directed and motivated expert who is used to tackling the necessary activities within the scope of maintenance and commissioning and repair on site with a high degree of initiative, assertiveness, willingness to learn and a high level of customer orientation
Due to the work in multinational teams the command of the German and English language in the level B1 is necessary; French would be welcome
Highest degree of flexibility and willingness to travel at home and abroad with a travel duration of several weeks e.g. Democratic Republic of Congo
Participation in 24/7 on-call service
Driving license class B
