Clarity Partners is seeking a Network Manager local to Chicago, IL. The Network Manager will provide technical leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for enterprise network engineering services within a complex healthcare environment. This position will lead a team responsible for the design, implementation, security, performance, and ongoing support of LAN, WAN, wireless, Voice-over-IP (VoIP), VPN, unified communications, and Internet/Intranet technologies while ensuring reliable and scalable network services. The Network Manager will partner with technology leadership, security teams, stakeholders, and vendors to establish network standards, develop strategic plans, manage budgets, and implement technologies that support organizational growth and operational requirements. This position will report in a hybrid setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Network Engineering team, establishing technical standards, operating procedures, performance expectations, and network engineering best practices.
• Manage, mentor, and develop technical staff through performance management, training, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
• Oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, VoIP, VPN, unified communications, and Internet/Intranet infrastructure.
• Serve as the technical and operational owner for enterprise network services, ensuring network availability, reliability, security, scalability, recoverability, and performance.
• Develop and maintain network architecture documentation, diagrams, standards, configurations, and operating procedures.
• Lead network architecture and solution-design initiatives, evaluating technical alternatives and providing recommendations based on business, security, operational, and financial requirements.
• Establish and maintain network monitoring and Network Operations capabilities to proactively identify and respond to performance, availability, and infrastructure issues.
• Partner with information security leadership to ensure network architecture and infrastructure comply with organizational security standards and best practices.
• Develop strategic network plans supporting future business requirements, infrastructure upgrades, capacity needs, and emerging technologies.
• Work with stakeholders, vendors, suppliers, and technology teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into scalable network solutions.
• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex network incidents, performance issues, outages, and infrastructure problems.
• Provide technical leadership for VoIP and unified communications technologies and ensure the network infrastructure effectively supports enterprise communications services.
• Evaluate the financial impact of network architecture and technology decisions and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
• Develop, maintain, and forecast network-related capital and operating budgets.
• Lead and support network infrastructure projects, including planning, resource coordination, implementation, testing, documentation, and transition to operations.
• Establish a culture of high-quality technical delivery, thorough documentation, strong customer service, and continuous improvement.
• Manage staff in accordance with applicable organizational policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements, including hiring, performance management, employee relations, and disciplinary processes.
• Partner with Labor Relations and organizational leadership as needed regarding collective bargaining agreements, employee relations, and workforce management matters.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional network engineering experience, including hands-on experience with LAN, WAN, wireless, VoIP, VPN, and enterprise network technologies.
• Minimum of 5 years of IT management or technical leadership experience, preferably within a healthcare or hospital environment.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising or managing network, unified communications, or related infrastructure professionals.
• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting highly available enterprise network architectures in complex, multi-site environments.
• Strong knowledge of network architecture, routing and switching, wireless technologies, WAN connectivity, VoIP, VPN technologies, and unified communications.
• Experience building or managing Network Operations functions, including enterprise network monitoring, alert management, availability management, performance monitoring, and incident response.
• Strong understanding of network security principles and experience integrating security requirements into network architecture and infrastructure design.
• Experience developing network strategies, technical roadmaps, infrastructure standards, and capacity plans.
• Experience managing technology vendors, service providers, contracts, and enterprise network solutions.
• Demonstrated project management experience leading network infrastructure implementations, upgrades, migrations, or modernization initiatives.
• Experience managing capital and operating budgets and evaluating the financial impact of technology decisions.
• Advanced troubleshooting, analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully lead teams through the implementation and adoption of new technologies and services.
• Strong leadership, organizational, negotiation, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to technical teams, leadership, vendors, and business stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary technical and business teams.
• Healthcare or hospital network infrastructure experience strongly preferred.
• Experience managing network or infrastructure teams operating within a union or collective bargaining environment preferred.

Clarity is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For the Network Manager, the base salary pay range is $130,000–$145,000. The range represents a good faith estimate that Clarity reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of posting. Compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
