Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the electrical and automation activities for industrial projects, including PLC programming, system integration, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting. You will collaborate with customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure safe, high-quality project execution while delivering reliable automation solutions that meet project schedules and performance objectives.

This role is contributing to the Robotics & Discrete Automation in Bangalore, India.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Lead the design, development, testing, and commissioning of PLC-based automation systems using IEC 61131-3 programming languages, ensuring reliable and efficient machine and production line operation.
• Integrate PLCs with industrial equipment including sensors, actuators, HMIs, SCADA systems, robots, and control systems, ensuring seamless communication through industrial protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, and Ethernet/IP.
• Manage on-site installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities, promptly resolving technical issues and ensuring optimum system performance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with customers, vendors, and internal cross-functional teams to ensure timely availability of materials, service support, and successful execution of project milestones.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including electrical drawings, PLC program backups, operating manuals, test reports, and project records, while effectively utilizing MS Office tools for reporting and communication.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards, and support project execution across customer locations in India with a willingness to travel extensively (up to 80%) based on project requirements.

Qualifications for the role

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline.
• Minimum 10-12 years of experience in automotive paint shop installation, automation, and commissioning projects.
• Strong expertise in paint shop automation systems, including ATEX-compliant concepts, with proven experience in installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
• Proficiency in PLC programming and development using IEC 61131-3 languages, with hands-on experience in Siemens (TIA Portal/Step 7), Allen-Bradley (RS Logix/Studio 5000), and Mitsubishi platforms.
• Experience in HMI/SCADA development, industrial network integration, and communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, OPC UA, and CANopen.
• Strong electrical and automation knowledge, including interpretation of electrical schematics, control systems, sensors, actuators, relays, motor controls, and system integration within manufacturing environments.
