The Manager of Medical Education is responsible for daily operational oversight of Graduate Medical Education (GME) activities at either BroMenn Medical Center (ABMC), Christ Medical Center (ACMC), Illinois Masonic Medical Center (AIMMC) or Lutheran General Hospital (ALGH). This position will work in collaboration with the Advocate Chief Academic Officer (CAO) /Designated Institutional Official (DIO), the Vice President, Medical Management (VPMM), and Executive Director of Medical Education (EDME) to assist with ensuring institutional (System) policies and procedures are carried out at the individual sites, help design and implement decisions of the Advocate Graduate Medical Education Committee (AGMEC), and assist the EDME with the operations and accreditation functions at the sites.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for Graduate and Undergraduate Medical Education (GME/UME) programs, ensuring effective delivery of educational services across the site.
  • Lead and supervise medical education staff, including program coordinators and UME coordinators, through performance management, coaching, resource allocation, and team development.
  • Ensure compliance with ACGME, institutional, regulatory, and accreditation standards by overseeing program evaluations, accreditation activities, policies, reporting, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Direct resident and fellow recruitment, onboarding, credentialing, licensure, visa processing, orientation, advancement, graduation, and training verification processes.
  • Collaborate with institutional leadership, program directors, faculty, and administrative stakeholders to support GMEC activities, accreditation reviews, resident engagement initiatives, and educational program success.
  • Oversee resident and fellow administrative and human resource functions, including payroll monitoring, leave management, benefits administration, wellness referrals, due process procedures, and required training compliance.
  • Manage program budgets, financial reporting, reimbursement processes, restricted funds, and resource planning to ensure fiscal responsibility and operational effectiveness.
  • Coordinate affiliation agreements, contracts, and educational partnerships while ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the primary site resource for medical education matters, supporting students, residents, fellows, faculty, and leadership while promoting a positive learning environment and educational excellence.


Education/Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in education or health-related field. 5 years’ of supervisory or management experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Strong knowledge of graduate and/or undergraduate medical education principles, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements; experience with ACGME accreditation processes preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience, including the ability to prioritize work, manage multiple responsibilities, and lead teams in a complex healthcare environment.
  • Exceptional organizational, planning, and project management skills with the ability to coordinate competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to synthesize information, make sound decisions, and effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, including experience evaluating processes, implementing improvements, and adapting to organizational change.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and related business applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, and function effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented healthcare environment.




Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Occasional odd or extended hours to meet deadlines. Attend meetings as required. Ability to travel.
