IT Analyst

Position Overview

emerjence LLC is seeking an experienced IT Analyst to review, analyze, and evaluate business information technology systems, technical environments, and user requirements. The IT Analyst will assess complex technical information, decompose information into key components, identify risks and potential threats, and contribute to the development of actionable plans designed to mitigate and neutralize identified risks.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and technical capabilities with experience evaluating IT systems, identifying technical and operational risks, gathering user requirements, and developing recommendations that support secure and effective technology operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and evaluate business IT systems, applications, processes, and user requirements.
• Gather and analyze technical, business, functional, and operational requirements.
• Assess existing IT environments to identify system capabilities, limitations, vulnerabilities, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Decompose complex technical information and problems into clearly defined components for analysis and resolution.
• Identify and evaluate technical and operational risks and potential threats affecting IT systems and business operations.
• Contribute to the development of plans of action designed to understand, mitigate, and neutralize identified risks and threats.
• Perform technical and functional analysis to support IT planning, system improvements, and decision-making.
• Analyze system performance, functionality, requirements, and dependencies to identify potential issues and recommend solutions.
• Work with technical teams and business stakeholders to evaluate current-state environments and determine future requirements.
• Develop recommendations for system improvements, risk mitigation, process enhancements, and technical solutions.
• Assist with documenting technical requirements, system specifications, findings, risks, and recommended courses of action.
• Support implementation, testing, and validation of IT solutions and system changes.
• Track identified issues, risks, mitigation activities, and technical action items through resolution.
• Prepare technical reports, assessments, briefings, presentations, and other project documentation.
• Coordinate with program leadership, technical teams, end users, and other stakeholders to address IT requirements and challenges.
• Support continuous improvement efforts related to system security, performance, reliability, and operational effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in information technology, systems analysis, IT risk analysis, cybersecurity, business systems analysis, or a related technical field.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing and analyzing business IT systems and user requirements.
• Experience evaluating technical information and decomposing complex issues into actionable components.
• Experience identifying, assessing, or supporting the mitigation of IT-related risks and threats.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate technical findings into clear recommendations and courses of action.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to independently manage assignments and priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting federal government IT programs or contracts.
• Experience with IT risk assessment, cybersecurity, vulnerability management, or technical risk mitigation.
• Knowledge of enterprise IT systems, applications, infrastructure, and security principles.
• Experience developing risk assessments, technical analyses, requirements documentation, and recommendations.
• Experience supporting system modernization, integration, or technology improvement initiatives.
• Familiarity with IT governance, risk management, and cybersecurity frameworks.
• Experience developing plans of action and tracking risk mitigation activities through resolution.
• Strong technical documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communication skills.
