The Opportunity
This role is based in Colombia and is part of the Business Technology Services (BTS) International IT organization.
The IT Project Manager is responsible for leading the delivery of strategic Payroll and HR technology initiatives across Latin America. This position will manage the planning, execution, and implementation of complex projects focused on payroll transformation, compliance, and operational improvement, partnering with global, regional, and local stakeholders.
The role requires close collaboration with IT, HR, Payroll, Finance, Compliance teams, external vendors, and implementation partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving multi-country payroll transformation initiatives leveraging enterprise technologies such as SAP SuccessFactors and Employee Central Payroll (ECP).
What You'll Do
Lead end-to-end delivery of IT projects, ensuring successful execution within approved scope, budget, timeline, and governance frameworks.
Develop and manage project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables across multiple countries and stakeholders.
Coordinate cross-functional teams including IT, HR, Payroll, Finance, Compliance, and external implementation partners.
Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies while implementing mitigation plans and escalation strategies as needed.
Facilitate project governance activities, stakeholder communication, and executive reporting.
Drive change management, testing, deployment readiness, and business adoption activities.
Ensure compliance with local payroll regulations and business requirements across LATAM markets.
Collaborate with vendors and implementation partners to ensure quality delivery and adherence to project objectives.
Maintain project documentation, governance artifacts, and reporting in approved project management tools.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to project management best practices within the International IT PMO.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Human Resources Information Systems, or a related field.
8+ years of professional experience in Information Technology, Digital Transformation, HR Technology, Payroll Systems, or Project Management.
Minimum 5 years of experience leading complex technology, software, or digital transformation projects in multinational organizations.
Experience delivering Payroll, Human Capital Management (HCM), HRIS, ERP, or SAP SuccessFactors initiatives.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid frameworks.
Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.
Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in a matrixed global environment.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and vendor management skills.
Experience working in regulated industries such as healthcare, pharmaceutical, diagnostics, or medical devices is preferred.
Knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and/or Employee Central Payroll (ECP) is preferred.
PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master, SAFe, PMI-ACP, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
Fluency in English required. Spanish proficiency is a plus.
