About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Civil Engineer to oversee civil engineering activities for landscape and outdoor development projects. The role will be responsible for site execution, technical coordination, quality control, measurements, material management, and ensuring that civil works are delivered according to approved drawings, specifications, timelines, and UAE standards.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in landscape construction, external works, hardscape, paving, drainage, irrigation-related civil works, concrete works, and site execution.

Key Responsibilities

Civil & Landscape Project Execution

• Supervise day-to-day civil works across landscape and external development projects.
• Execute works including hardscape, paving, kerbs, concrete works, retaining structures, pathways, and associated civil elements.
• Review approved drawings, specifications, BOQs, and project requirements before execution.
• Ensure construction activities are completed according to approved designs and project schedules.
• Monitor manpower, equipment, and material requirements at site.

Site Engineering & Supervision

• Conduct regular site inspections and monitor ongoing construction activities.
• Set out works and verify levels, dimensions, alignments, and elevations.
• Coordinate with surveyors, foremen, subcontractors, consultants, and project teams.
• Identify site constraints and provide practical engineering solutions.
• Ensure proper sequencing of civil and landscape activities to avoid delays and rework.

Technical Coordination

• Review civil, architectural, structural, landscape, irrigation, and MEP drawings for coordination.
• Identify discrepancies and clashes between drawings and actual site conditions.
• Prepare RFIs and technical queries where clarification is required.
• Coordinate civil works with irrigation, lighting, drainage, water features, and other landscape systems.
• Assist in reviewing shop drawings and method statements.

Quality Control

• Ensure all civil works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Inspect materials and workmanship before and during installation.
• Coordinate required inspections with consultants and clients.
• Prepare and close inspection requests, snag lists, and quality observations.
• Ensure appropriate testing is carried out for concrete, compaction, levels, drainage, and other relevant works.

Quantity & Cost Monitoring

• Take site measurements and verify quantities of completed works.
• Assist with preparation and review of BOQs, material take-offs, and variation claims.
• Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage.
• Support project management teams with progress measurement and cost-control activities.
• Verify subcontractor quantities and completed works.

Planning & Progress Monitoring

• Monitor daily and weekly progress against project schedules.
• Coordinate with planning and project management teams regarding work progress.
• Identify potential delays and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure critical civil activities are completed within required timelines.
• Maintain daily site reports and progress documentation.

HSE & Site Compliance

• Ensure civil works are carried out in accordance with approved HSE procedures.
• Identify site hazards and implement appropriate preventive measures.
• Ensure workers use required PPE and follow safe working practices.
• Coordinate with HSE teams regarding permits, inspections, and site safety requirements.
• Maintain good housekeeping and safe access across work areas.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3–7 years of experience in civil construction, preferably within landscape, hardscape, external works, or infrastructure projects.
• UAE/GCC experience is preferred.
• Strong experience with landscape-related civil works, including paving, kerbs, concrete, drainage, and external structures.
• Knowledge of UAE construction standards, specifications, and authority requirements.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with project documentation, measurements, BOQs, and site inspections.
