Supply Chain and Procurement Specialist
Type of Employment: Permanent
Location: Riga, Latvia
Visa requirements: A valid work permit from the EU/EEA (relocation assistance is not provided)
THE ROLE
The Supply Chain and Procurement Specialist is responsible for delivering data-driven insights, analytics, and performance reporting that improves supplier performance and procurement efficiency to achieve our supply chain objectives.
Working closely with Procurement, Merchandising, Data & Analytics teams, this role supports informed decision-making through robust re, performance measurement, business analysis, and strategic sourcing support. The position plays a key role in identifying opportunities to improve supplier performance, optimize costs, mitigate risks and drive operational efficiencies.
The successful candidate will combine strong analytical skills with commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills to influence decision-making and support strategic procurement and supplier management initiatives in Europe.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning & Analyses:
Support supplier evaluations, RFP submission reviews, contract renewals, and contract compliance review
Provide analytical support for strategic sourcing initiatives through supplier benchmarking, cost analysis, market intelligence and pricing assessments
Develop and maintain reporting routines, supplier scorecards, and performance summaries to support Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and supplier governance meetings
Analyze supplier performance data, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for continuous improvement
Support category planning and supplier strategy development with Merchandising and Procurement Managers through data-driven recommendations
Contribute to supplier performance improvement initiatives by monitoring key metrics and recommending corrective actions where required.
Reporting & Business Insights:
Partner with Global Data & Analytics/BI teams to develop and maintain relevant procurement dashboards, scorecards and KPI reporting
Source, cleanse, validate and analyze procurement, supply chain and transactional data to identify cost-saving opportunities and sourcing efficiencies
Support Strategic sourcing initiatives through supplier, market and pricing analysis
Monitor purchasing trends to provide recommendations to improve procurement performance
Track supplier compliance, synergy initiatives and payment terms to support QBR and Annual negotiations processes
Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support negotiations, category reviews, supplier meetings and strategic business initiatives
Drive continuous improvement of reporting tools, data models and business intelligence capabilities relevant to procurement and supply chain reporting
Communicate insights and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Stakeholder collaboration:
Partner with cross functional teams that include Merchandising & Procurement, Supply Chain, HSE, Finance and Legal to ensure activities are aligned with organizational and consumer requirements:
Act as trusted analytical partner to Procurement and Category Managers and broader Merchandising teams
Enable data-driven decision making through timely insights and recommendations
Support on procurement best practices, supplier governance processes and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in line with CKPB audit standards
Build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to support immediate and longer-term business objectives
Support change management and process improvement initiatives across procurement and supply chain functions.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years’ experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, Merchandising, Operations or Business Analytics
Demonstrated experience working with large and complex data sets to generate actionable business insights and recommendations
Advanced analytical capability using Excel, including Power Query, Power Pivot, complex formulas and data modelling
Experience working with modern data and analytics platforms such as Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, or similar solutions is advantageous
Proven ability to develop and maintain reports, dashboards, scorecards and KPI frameworks using PowerBI or similar business intelligence tools
Experience in supporting Procurement, Buying or Category Management teams with hands-on knowledge of procurement KPIs and processes
Experience working with ERP systems such as Oracle, JDE, SAP or similar platforms preferred
Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, sourcing methodologies and contract management preferred
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills with ability to translate data into meaningful business recommendations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Logistics, Procurement, Economics or a related discipline
Experience working in retail, wholesale or distribution, or consumer goods environments is desirable
Professional certification from a professional body specializing in Procurement & Supply is advantageous (e.g. CIPS, ISM, CPSM or equivalent).
