Job Purpose/Overview
Mars Segments and Functions are raising the bar, AI must deliver business value not just promise potential. That means taking cutting-edge LLM capabilities and turning them into resilient, secure,
and scalable agentic software. As a systems-minded, AI-native engineer, the candidate will own the full stack—APIs, intuitive UIs, and scalable orchestration pipelines. Embedded deeply with the business teams, the candidate will diagnose the root problems, and architect AI-powered workflows that run at scale. The candidate will partner with business stakeholders to design, implement, and deliver solution-ready builds in agile sprints. The product becomes the reference implementation for scalable GenAI in the enterprise by codifying patterns, internal tooling, and delivering systems that are tested and scalable.
Key Responsibilities
Build solution-ready, LLM-enabled applications that span backend logic, data orchestration, and front-end UI.
Adopt responsible AI practices and principles and deploy compliant solutions with the right RBAC policies and access management.
Work with business stakeholders to adapt, deploy, and iterate in live environments.
Codify reusable asset that includes libraries, prompts, scaffold to accelerate futureengagements.
Effectively engineer APIs, orchestration pipelines, vector DBs, LLM frameworks, UI components.
Integrate with legacy systems, navigate ambiguity, and deploy at pace.
Codify patterns - build scaffolds, SDKs, and documentation to scale across Mars Segments.
Inform product strategy through tested insights and extensible code.
Engage, negotiate and influence internal stakeholders to establish priorities in line with thehighest business impact.
Shape internal tooling and integrate into platform roadmap and primitives.
Provide Engineering leadership and win trust of architects, PMs, and business stakeholders
Ensures the key handoffs and interdependencies, 3rd party firms and business stakeholders to ensure successful value delivery, and ability to scale.
Define solutions for Mars business processes with clear articulation of business case and ROI.
Identify the capability gaps that are hindering progress and propose solutions to address them.
Responsible for operational excellence and service management across business segments, services and capabilities.
Responsible for deploying environments and assigning digital workers in all stages of the automation development lifecycle.
Manage capacity and utilization of servers, users, and credentials to ensure no delays for any automation projects.
Design, maintain and oversee governance and control processes in collaboration with Security, Controls, Enterprise Architecture, and Identity teams.
Training, support and consultation for partners, federated users, and key stakeholders
Job Specifications/Qualifications
Experience in integrating AI into work processes and use case problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analysing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI’s potential impact on the function or business segment
Relevant Experience: 10+ years of software engineering, including 3+ years building systems in customer-facing or embedded roles.
System architecture: Proven ability to design and implement AI-native software in production environments.
Engineering depth: Strength in backend (Python, Node.js, Java), frontend (React, Angular), APIs (REST/GraphQL).
LLM tooling: Familiarity with LangChain, Semantic Kernel, prompt chaining, vector search, and context management.
Performance & observability: Skilled in debugging distributed systems, tuning for latency, and implementing monitoring.
Platform mindset: Can contribute to shared SDKs and tools, raising engineering velocity for the whole org.
Product sensibility: Prioritize for user value, MVP iteration, and long-term scale.
DevOps fluency: Experience deploying in Azure, or GCP with CI/CD, containers, and infra-as-code.
Ability to manage the coordination and governance of 3rd party strategic partner talent
networks.
