Commercial IT Product Owner

Location: Shanghai, China

Reports To: Senior Manager, Commercial IT

What You Will Do

The Commercial IT Product Owner is responsible for maximizing business value delivered through Salesforce ecosystem under commercial domain.

This role serves as the primary liaison between Commercial business stakeholders and technology delivery teams, ensuring business needs are translated into prioritized product backlogs, scalable capabilities, and measurable outcomes. The Product Owner will define product vision, manage demand intake, prioritize enhancements, and drive digital transformation initiatives supporting Sales, Marketing, Pricing, Service, and Customer Operations. Salesforce CRM, Quotation, Opportunity Management, Lead Management, Pricing, and Commercial processes are key functional domains within scope.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Roadmap

• Define and maintain the product roadmap aligned with Commercial business objectives.
• Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and digital transformation.
• Translate strategic initiatives into actionable product enhancements and delivery plans.
• Drive adoption of product operating model and value-based prioritization.

Demand & Backlog Management

• Own and prioritize the product backlog.
• Evaluate business requests and enhancement demands based on business value, complexity, and strategic alignment.
• Lead backlog grooming sessions and sprint planning activities.
• Ensure requirements are clearly documented and ready for development.

Business Partnership

• Serve as the primary point of contact between Commercial business stakeholders and IT teams.
• Facilitate workshops to gather requirements and clarify business needs.
• Challenge and refine requirements to focus on business outcomes rather than system changes.
• Build strong relationships with Sales, Marketing, Service, Pricing, and Commercial Operations teams.

Salesforce & Commercial Capabilities

• Own end-to-end business capabilities within Salesforce CRM, Quotation, Customer Management, Pricing, Opportunity Management, and related Commercial platforms.
• Continuously improve system usability, business processes, and user experience.
• Drive harmonization and standardization of commercial processes across regions where applicable.
• Partner with Solution Architects to evaluate solution options and technology investments.

Agile Delivery

• Create and manage user stories with clear business acceptance criteria.
• Participate in sprint planning, reviews, backlog refinement, and release activities.
• Validate delivered functionality and approve business acceptance.
• Ensure solutions meet business objectives and customer expectations.

Change Management & Adoption

• Drive stakeholder engagement and user adoption.
• Support training, communications, and rollout activities.
• Monitor product performance, user feedback, and adoption metrics.
• Foster a continuous improvement culture.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree or above in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related disciplines.

Experience

• Experience: 8 +years of experience in Agile product management or as a technical business analyst/technical architect.
• Technical Depth: 5+ years of experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud
• Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and familiarity with tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, or Trello.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, analytical thinking, and the ability to say "No" to low-value stakeholder requests while maintaining professional relationships.
• Architecture Background: Proven ability to design enterprise-level implementations and manage complex integrations using middleware or APIs.
• Agile Leadership: Experience leading Scrum ceremonies and managing backlogs in tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.

Preferred Experience

·         Certifications (Preferred): Certified Scrum Product Owner or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager AND Salesforce certifications such as Sales Cloud Consultant or Application/System Architect.
