Analyst III - RGM Data Science

Job Description

Role Summary

We are seeking a data professional with strong capabilities in Advance Excel, Python, SQL, and Power BI to transform and analyze data, deliver high-quality ad hoc insights, and support business decision-making in the CPG industry. The ideal candidate has proven experience working with POS data and can translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Transform, clean, and prepare data using Excel, SQL, and Python to enable reliable reporting and analysis.
• Deliver ad hoc analysis using the appropriate tools (Excel/Python/SQL/Power BI) to answer time-sensitive business questions.
• Apply supervised machine learning techniques—especially Regression and Decision Tree models—to support forecasting, drivers analysis, and performance evaluation.
• Work with CPG POS data (e.g., retailer/market-level sales, pricing, promotions, distribution) to identify trends, issues, and opportunities.
• Translate data outputs into clear business narratives, insights, and recommendations; communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ensure data quality and consistency across sources; document logic, assumptions, and definitions where needed.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Strong hands-on proficiency in Advance Excel, Python, SQL, and Power BI (Good to have).
• Demonstrated ability to transform and model data across tools (data wrangling, joins, aggregations, validation).
• Proven experience delivering ad hoc analytics and synthesizing insights under tight timelines.
• Strong knowledge of supervised ML, specifically Regression and Decision Tree approaches (including model evaluation and interpretation).
• Experience in the CPG industry, with confirmed work on POS data and related performance metrics.
• Ability to translate data into insights and recommendations aligned to business objectives.

Preferred

• 4-6 years of experience in Data Science creating Regression, Forecasting Models from Scratch to understand Impact of Price N promotion on Sales
• Experience with forecasting, price/promo analytics, or assortment optimization in CPG.
• Familiarity with best practices in data governance, documentation, and stakeholder reporting.
• Hands-on experience and strong understanding of Advance Excel and Python along with Power-BI (Good to have)
