POSITION TITLE: Medical Records Clerk

RESPONSIBLE TO: Chief Operating Officer

FLSA STATUS: Non – Exempt

Purpose of this Position: The Medical Records Clerk I / Scanner will be primarily responsible for scanning medical records and being the back-up for sending and receiving medical records.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must type 40 WPM.
2. Knowledge of Windows based programs.
3. Ability to work without direct supervision.
4. Detail oriented with ability to organize and prioritize work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Scans incoming medical records and medical charts.
2. Process incoming and outgoing medical records requests.
3. Performs other related functions as required for health center operations.
4. Maintains strict confidence on all information gained in performing the duties of this position.
5. Assist with meeting quality measures by completing tasks related to VFHC initiatives.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Quality Improvement:

Participates in improving VFHC performance, processes, or programs through quality  

improvement which will be demonstrated in at least one instance annually.

Physical Requirements:

1. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
2. Continuous sitting, standing, walking.
3. Correctable vision and hearing.
4. The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
5. The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
