Director of Design – Women's
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Schedule: 4 Days Onsite
About the Role
We are seeking a Director of Design to lead the Women's ATS division for a fast-paced, high-volume apparel business.
We are looking for a hands-on, commercially driven, and entrepreneurial design leader who understands how to develop product that sells. The ideal candidate is scrappy, resourceful, and comfortable taking ownership in a fast-moving environment.
Strong experience with off-price, value, mass-market, or club retail is highly preferred, including experience with customers such as Costco, Walmart, TJX, Ross, Burlington, or similar retailers.
Responsibilities

Own the overall design direction for the Women's ATS division.

Lead the development of high-volume women's apparel from concept through production.

Identify trends in color, print, fabric, silhouette, and styling and translate them into commercial product.

Develop product and assortments tailored to specific retail customers and price points.

Partner closely with Merchandising, Sales, Production, and Sourcing to bring product to market quickly.

Lead and mentor the design team while remaining hands-on in the creative process.

Balance trend and creativity with cost, margin, quality, timing, and customer requirements.

Manage multiple seasons, categories, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications

8+ years of Women's Apparel Design experience with leadership experience.

Strong background in high-volume apparel.

Experience with off-price, mass-market, value, or club retail strongly preferred.

Experience with Costco, Walmart, TJX, Ross, Burlington, or similar accounts is a major plus.

Strong understanding of the product lifecycle from concept through production.

Excellent eye for trend, color, print, fabric, fit, and silhouette.

Strong commercial and customer mindset.

Scrappy, entrepreneurial, and hands-on approach to problem solving.

Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills.

Ability to work 4 days per week onsite in Jersey City, NJ.
