BPG Designs is seeking an experienced Director of Design to lead our Design Division of approximately 100 professionals across design, CAD, survey, project management, permitting, and quality control.

This is an opportunity for a leader who combines telecom design expertise with strong business judgment, develops capable managers, and builds systems that consistently improve quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Your work will directly support successful construction by ensuring design packages are accurate, constructable, and delivered when promised.

The Opportunity

You will oversee the design production process from project kickoff through issued-for-construction packages, aligning people, resources, and customer commitments.

Target: at least 95% of committed design packages delivered on time and approved without significant revisions or customer rejection.

What You'll Do

· Lead a multidisciplinary division, setting clear expectations and holding teams accountable for quality, schedule, and results. External accountability is measured by communication, commitments, and quality; internal accountability by margin, billing, and collection.

· Coach and develop managers, strengthen leadership capabilities, and plan staffing to meet business needs.

· Improve production systems through standardization, automation, capacity planning, and accurate forecasting.

· Ensure designs meet customer standards, utility requirements, municipal regulations, and constructability requirements.

· Oversee permitting and utility coordination to reduce approval delays and keep projects moving.

· Serve as an executive contact for key customers, resolve escalations, and strengthen long-term relationships.

· Partner with Operations and Construction to coordinate design delivery with field execution.

· Reduce rework, design errors, customer returns, and field corrections.

· Protect the margin, bill on time, and collect what we've earned - managing the department budget and improving profitability through effective staffing, resource utilization, and process improvement.

· Use performance data to identify bottlenecks, guide decisions, and deliver consistent results.

What You Bring

· 10+ years of experience leading telecommunications design organizations.

· Experience managing large, multidisciplinary teams, ideally ranging from 50 to 150+ employees.

· Strong knowledge of outside plant (OSP) and/or wireless design.

· Experience supporting turnkey telecommunications construction.

· A solid understanding of permitting, utility coordination, and design production.

· A demonstrated record of scaling teams and improving operational performance.

· Strong financial management, customer relationship, and people leadership skills.

· A practical approach to Lean principles and continuous improvement.

· Clear communication skills and the ability to lead both customer conversations and internal execution.
