BUILD FINANCIAL CONFIDENCE THROUGH ACCURACY AND COMPLIANCE!
As a Senior Accountant (CPA) - Finance and Compliance, you will take ownership of critical activities across General Ledger, bank reconciliations, tax and PEZA compliance, Accounts Payable, audit support, and financial reporting.
In this role, you'll work closely with internal stakeholders, vendors, external auditors, and Group Finance to ensure financial transactions are properly recorded, regulatory requirements are met, and accounting processes remain accurate, timely, and well-controlled. Your work will help protect the organization from financial risk, maintain regulatory and PEZA compliance, and support effective financial decision-making.
HERE'S HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Maintaining General Ledger & Financial Reporting
- Prepare journal entries, maintain General Ledger accuracy, and perform monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring variances are investigated and resolved promptly.
- Prepare month-end balance sheet and Profit & Loss schedules and supporting reports for review by the Finance Manager and submission to Group Finance.
- Maintain complete and accurate accounting records in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
Managing Tax & PEZA Compliance
- Prepare, review, and file statutory BIR returns, including VAT, Expanded Withholding Tax (EWT), and Income Tax requirements, within established deadlines.
- Prepare required PEZA reports and compliance documentation, ensuring accurate submissions and proper supporting records.
- Monitor regulatory deadlines and requirements, escalating potential compliance risks and supporting the organization in maintaining its PEZA tax incentives.
Reviewing Billings & Accounts Payable
- Review outgoing brand invoices, billings, pass-through charges, supporting documents, and applicable tax or PEZA treatments before issuance.
- Verify vendor invoices and payment documentation for accuracy, completeness, appropriate authorization, and compliance with internal controls.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve billing discrepancies and missing documentation.
Facilitating External and Internal Audit Readiness
- Prepare audit schedules, Provided-by-Client (PBC) requirements, and supporting tax and accounting documentation for internal and external audits.
- Coordinate finance documentation and responses during interim and year-end audits and support the timely resolution of audit requests and findings.
- Apply internal control and Segregation of Duties (SoD) requirements consistently across accounting activities.
Supporting Cash Management & Payroll
- Monitor vendor payment due dates and maintain the disbursement calendar to support cash flow forecasting and timely supplier payments.
- Support payroll processing by reviewing payroll registers, preparing bank upload files, and verifying employee account information.
- Maintain accurate fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and asset movement documentation to support balance sheet reporting.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience covering General Ledger, bank reconciliation, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
- Relevant professional experience with a Big 4 accounting firm is required.
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a bachelor's degree in Accountancy.
- Hands-on experience with Philippine tax compliance, including BIR requirements, VAT, EWT, and statutory filings.
- Experience with PEZA compliance and reporting is highly preferred.
- Experience in a PEZA-registered company, multinational organization, or audit firm is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting, month-end close, General Ledger management, reconciliations, and audit preparation.
- Working knowledge of internal controls and Segregation of Duties (SoD).
- Proficiency in ERP accounting systems such as NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, cell protection, and basic financial modeling.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, vendors, and external auditors.
- High level of integrity, accountability, confidentiality, and commitment to compliance.
