The Team:
The APAC Specialist team comprises dynamic professionals with deep commodity expertise, many bringing industry backgrounds as analysts, traders, and content creators who understand the markets from multiple perspectives. Responsibilities and Impact:
Drive revenue growth and exceed net-sales targets for S&P Global Energy's Chemicals portfolio across Greater China, directly contributing to the company's market leadership in commodity intelligence
Build and strengthen strategic relationships with key clients and prospects through regular site visits, executive briefings, and market engagement activities that position S&P Global as the trusted partner of choice
Lead cross-functional collaboration with Commercial, Product, Marketing, and Content teams to develop targeted go-to-market strategies and identify high-value cross-selling opportunities across commodity sectors
Serve as the voice of the customer by translating market insights into actionable intelligence for Product Development and Research teams, ensuring our solutions remain at the forefront of industry needs
Manage complex sales cycles from prospecting through contract closure, maintaining disciplined CRM documentation and pipeline management to enable transparent forecasting and coordinated team selling
Represent S&P Global Energy at industry conferences, workshops, and client events, enhancing brand visibility while building your expertise in global commodity markets and expanding your professional network
What We're Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in business, finance, economics, or related field
5-10 years of B2B sales experience with proven track record of achieving revenue targets and developing new markets, preferably in chemicals trading, research, consulting, or commodity-related industries
Fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders across all organizational levels
Proficiency in CRM systems (such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or Microsoft Dynamics) and Microsoft Office suite, with demonstrated ability to maintain accurate documentation and pipeline management
Strong solution-selling capabilities with experience in consultative sales approaches, stakeholder mapping, and complex deal negotiation in B2B environments
Willingness to travel 20-50% within Greater China territory for client meetings, relationship building, and market development activities
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Deep knowledge of chemicals industry dynamics, market trends, and trading practices, with understanding of petrochemicals, specialty chemicals, or related commodity sectors
Experience with digital sales tools and AI-enabled productivity platforms, demonstrating adaptability to emerging technologies that enhance customer engagement and workflow efficiency
Previous experience managing enterprise-level key accounts with multi-million dollar contract values and complex decision-making processes
Background in market research, business intelligence, or consulting roles that involved translating customer insights into strategic recommendations for product development teams
