POSITION SUMMARY
The Area Manager is a leadership role responsible for driving commercial performance and operations excellence for the boutiques based in Hong Kong.
He/she leads the Boutiques within his/her area management, spending at least 70% of his/her time in the field delivering sustainable growth, elevated client experience and developing solid boutique teams.
He/she is responsible for constantly elevating the professionalism of the Boutique Management and their teams to be “best in class” and co-create action plan with them. He or she also ensures that all boutiques adopt a client-centric culture –sales and service driven- through thoroughly thought action plan shared and endorsed by all, supported by the corporate office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Commercial & Business performance
- Works with the Retail Director to define strategic business plans and bridges between the Retail and cross function departments and Corporate Divisions within the organization
- Own and deliver sales, profitability and productivity
- Develop and execute robust retail strategies and action plans to drive growth across boutiques
- Closely monitor KPIs and proactively implement actions.
- Partner with merchandising and Supply chain teams to ensure optimal product assortment
- In direct relation with departments store when necessary to drive actions
- Works with the Retail Director to define strategic business plan and bridges between the Retail and cross function departments and Corporate Divisions within the organization
- Provide business insight on his/her dedicated zone
Boutique Operations Efficiency / Retail Performance
- Work as Business Partners across teams (retail & corporation) for all to achieve retail excellence and performance.
- Enhance boutique’s operation efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensures SOP are constantly updated with the support of Retail Ops and closely followed at the frontline.
- Ensure full compliance in line with internal audit and labor regulations
Elevated Client experience
- Ensure consistent delivery and exceptional delivery of client experience in line with Cartier Standards
- Develop Clienteling strategies and Client’s engagement driving cross selling and client loyalty
- Develop High End clientele portfolio
- Deliver the highest standards of Visual Merchandising hand in hand with VM team.
- Collaborate with Marketing and VM teams to execute Boutique activations
Leadership & People development
- Fosters a culture of uncompromising excellence in frontline teams, ensures that retail team members are engaged, motivated and performing in accordance with the Maison’s vision and mission.
- Drive a performance driven culture with clear accountability, engagement and motivation
- In collaboration with the L&T team, develop and coach the teams,
- Advises the Retail Director on succession planning and on developing Boutique management through the identification of their development needs and career aspirations.
- Build succession planning
- Ensure recruitment, onboarding and training standards meet both commercial needs and Brands standards
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Key business partners of HR, L&T, Marketing, Operations
- Build relationships with landlords, and any relevant external partner
Education & Qualifications
- University degree required.
- Watch and Jewelry / Fashion / retail / luxury background definitely an advantage.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in retail management role – of which the last 3 is for a team of no less than 30 people.
- Candidates with more experience will be considered as Senior Manager
- Fluent in Cantonese and or Mandarin and English are required.
