We’re a one-of-a-kind marketplace for buying and selling special objects. Each week, more than 100,000 unique items are auctioned, all carefully curated by our passionate in-house experts.
Having sold over 25 million unique objects, our mission is to become the world’s most popular destination for special objects. As a growing, diverse and sustainable scale-up, we proudly live by three core values. If these values resonate with you, we’d love to explore how you can join us.
- Taking ownership and driving impact
- Being open to change and feedback
- Being passionate about our mission and our customers.
Your Mission
As a Senior Key Business Developer for Catawiki’s Collectables business in Japan, you will build and develop a strong pipeline of new sellers across categories including Asian Art, Cameras, Trading Cards and Toys. You will identify high-potential sellers, introduce them to Catawiki and provide a smooth onboarding experience.
You will create sustainable revenue opportunities by turning new sellers into committed, fast-growing sellers who are ready to transition to the Account Management teams.
What You’ll Do
- Identify, qualify and develop seller leads through calls, emails, field visits, fairs and collaboration with category experts.
- Reactivate high-potential dormant sellers and engage promising organic sign-ups to expand the Collectables seller network.
- Qualify inbound opportunities using data and sales tools to identify sellers with strong growth potential.
- Build and nurture relationships with new sellers, providing a smooth experience before and after onboarding.
- Develop category knowledge in collaboration with experts to better identify and support high-potential sellers.
- Grow promising new sellers and prepare the strongest performers for handover to the Account Management teams.
- Collaborate with Account Managers to develop growth plans for onboarded sellers and support their continued development.
What You’ll Bring
- A strong sales mindset with a demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets.
- Proven networking and relationship-building skills with sellers, manufacturers and distributors, supported by strong negotiation skills.
- A problem-solving mindset and a data-driven approach to identifying and developing opportunities.
- Experience working in international organisations and scale-up environments.
- A strong interest in the online industry or collecting, enabling you to understand and connect with sellers.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace tools, including Google Sheets and Google Slides, with experience using a sales CRM such as HubSpot or equivalent considered a plus.
- Fluency in Japanese and business proficiency in English, with willingness to travel regularly within Japan to meet leads and sellers.
How We Work
- Collaborate closely with category experts and Account Managers to identify opportunities and develop seller growth plans.
- Build relationships directly with sellers through both remote outreach and regular in-person meetings across Japan.
- Work in an international, scale-up environment with a focus on growing Catawiki’s Collectables seller network in Japan.
Where You’ll Be
This is a 100% remote role based in Japan.
