Description
What's the role?
Reporting to the Content Editor, the Social Media Editor for Escape will ensure our social media channels capture the passion of our audience and that our content speaks to them and suits the platforms they are using.
This is an opportunity to combine your passion for social media, video creation, audience development and travel to build travel engagement and foster audience growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilise social platforms to share, source and interact daily with our audiences. You’ll effortlessly strike the balance between content that informs, educates, entertains and creates conversation — all while managing and working towards strict deadlines and KPIs.
Drive the best social and video travel coverage in the country — the person who takes the role needs to be a game-changer. You’ll have the responsibility over all of our social media accounts, and drive our editorial video production pipeline for onsite and social media channels, providing best practices, growth strategies, and innovative use of platform tools/functionality.
Tell us about emerging platforms, developing trends and new tools before they become mainstream, all the while utilising content of the country’s best travel journalists, photographers, content creators and videographers and also your own original concepts.
Introduce new and innovative ways to increase our social media and video footprint, through continually exploring new customer trends in social communication and interaction.
Share social and video data with the Escape and wider travel teams on a regular basis.
Who are you?
Ideally, have three to five years of industry experience in a similar social media and video-led role, with experience in travel media preferred.
Travel in every form is your passion. Social media and video are your other passions, which makes you the go-to person for the best tactics to increase reach, engagement and referrals.
You are data-led and are fluent in analytics, and know how to implement strategies based on data.
Tiktok, Instagram Reels, Pinterest, YouTube and the next big thing, it doesn’t matter because you’re across it all and know exactly what it takes to get a reaction.
You stay on top of the latest platforms, tools and social technology developments that enable us to engage readers and achieve business goals.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite programs (design and video editing skills are highly desirable).
From making highly engaging videos to talking directly to our audience social media, you know when to have a light touch and when to be serious.
You are a strong communicator and are able to work with multiple stakeholders across marketing, editorial and product teams.
Take initiative to work on a range of projects, manage strict deadlines and be able to work independently.
