Do work that matters
The Chief Operations Office (COO) is the strategic centre and engine room of the Group, focused on delivering efficient processes relating to the origination, production, validation and fulfilment of transactions and trades across the Group as well as key regulatory programs. Core to the functions of the COO is a focus on customer. Every single process that we execute has a significant impact on the customer experience.
About the role
We’re looking for someone curious and motivated to help deliver the future of AI at CBA. Reporting to the Executive Manager, AI, Data & Analytics Strategy, you’ll contribute to high-impact projects that improve customer experience and business performance. You’ll work with stakeholders across business, technology and operations, supported by a team that values learning, diverse thinking and personal growth.
In this newly established hybrid role, you'll join a high-performing team working on strategic priorities across Fraud, Scams, Financial Crime and Operations. You'll support the development and execution of strategy and initiatives that accelerate the adoption and impact of Data, Analytics and AI across COO. Success will require structured problem-solving, strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to turn ideas into practical business outcomes. Experience in AI, Data or Analytics is advantageous, but not essential.
Your Responsibilities
Support the development, refinement and execution of COO's Data, Analytics and AI strategy.
Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities, solve business problems and translate strategic priorities into practical initiatives that deliver measurable value.
Manage and deliver defined strategic projects and workstreams, including problem definition, stakeholder engagement, research, analysis, insight synthesis and recommendation development.
Prepare clear, executive-ready insights, business cases and recommendations to support decision-making, governance and investment prioritisation.
Support the Executive Manager, AI, Data & Analytics Strategy in coordinating key AIDA operating rhythms, including people forums, planning activities and EGM reporting, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and to agreed quality standards.
Contribute to strategic roadmaps, delivery plans and success measures that support effective execution and value realisation.
Partner with teams across COO to support AI adoption and organisational readiness and help embed Data, Analytics and AI capabilities.
Your Skills & Experience
Experience in business strategy consulting or a corporate in-house strategy function.
Strong problem-solving skills, ability to take ownership and deliver defined outcomes across strategic projects, using structured and hypothesis-led thinking.
Strong verbal and written communication, stakeholder engagement and presentation skills.
A collaborative approach, with the confidence to influence stakeholders and build alignment across matrix reporting structures.
Exposure to the financial services sector and/ or Data, Analytics and AI is advantageous.
