Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Primary accountability for coordination of all surety services provided to clients involving a degree of complexity and responsibility, that are small to medium sized companies
- Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Gathers, analyzes and maintains underwriting information for clients and prospects
- Develops and manages close working relationships with external and internal customers, and surety company personnel
- Provides education, instruction and support to clients throughout the entire bonding process
- Prepares for and leads client surety meetings with moderate guidance
- Demonstrates problem solving, coordinating information and specific details, and acting as a source of contract and commercial surety expertise for the agency
- Develops meaningful new and re-marketing submissions for clients and prospects and manage the marketing process to establish and/or maintain competitive bond programs
- Assists in developing sales of new or additional lines of business
- Assists with cross training within the bond department SAM and SAR roles when appropriate
- Responsibility for overseeing the collection process of AR items in accordance with the IMA Surety Accounts Receivable process
- Performs functions of the role within an IMA office approximately 50% of the time
Required Experience and Skills include but are not limited to:
- Five to ten years of similar or surety related experience
- Prefer a college degree or equivalent experience
- AFSB Designation preferred
- Must maintain a Property & Casualty insurance licensed for the state where domiciled, as well others where clients are located
- Must fulfill appropriate continuing education requirements
- High degree of diplomacy and trust
- Ability to interpret and analyze surety/insurance documents and financial documents
- Strong analytical and math skills, including basic familiarity, and with surety underwriting and marketing
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to coordinate the workflow of others on special projects
- Experience with MS Office products preferred/required (specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel) – or N/A
- Limited travel required – 25% or less
