This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as a Manufacturing Engineering Intern in Boisbriand with Signify, the world leader in lighting.  

• Create detailed drawings indicating dimensions, views, and other useful information for manufacturing.
• Develop detailed drawings for tooling, molds, and factory layouts required for the role.
• Communicate regularly, or as needed, with the Manufacturing Department to make agreed-upon modifications to drawings to facilitate production while meeting customer requirements.
• Create and update bills of materials (BOMs) used in product manufacturing.
• Conduct time and motion studies to improve the accuracy of planning tools and identify continuous improvement opportunities in production methods.
• Participate in the study and application of quality best practices (office and plant).

More about you

While we appreciate all applicants, we believe the following experience and skills will help you succeed in this role:

• Currently pursuing a university degree in Mechanical Engineering or Operations and Logistics Engineering.
• College diploma (DEC) in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is considered an asset.
• Hands-on experience with 3D modeling tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong French communication skills, both written and verbal.

Internship Duration: January – April 2027

Salary: $22.45 - $27.85 per hour

This internship has the potential to lead to a permanent position with Signify.

• Exécuter des dessins détaillés indiquant les dimensions, les vues et autres informations utiles à la fabrication.
• Réaliser des dessins détaillés pour les outils, les moules et les aménagements d’usine nécessaires à l’exécution des activités.
• Communiquer régulièrement, ou au besoin, avec le département de la fabrication afin d’apporter les modifications convenues aux dessins pour faciliter la production tout en respectant les exigences des clients.
• Rédiger et mettre à jour les listes de matériaux (BOM) utilisées dans la fabrication des produits.
• Effectuer des analyses de temps et mouvements afin d’améliorer la précision des outils de planification et d’identifier des occasions d’amélioration continue des méthodes de production.
• Participer à l’étude et à l’application des meilleures pratiques en matière de qualité (bureau et usine).

À propos de vous

Bien que nous appréciions toutes les candidatures, nous croyons que les expériences et compétences suivantes vous permettront de réussir dans ce rôle :

• Être actuellement inscrit(e) à un programme universitaire en génie mécanique ou en génie des opérations et de la logistique.
• Un DEC en génie mécanique ou industriel est considéré comme un atout.
• Posséder une expérience pratique avec des outils de modélisation 3D tels que SolidWorks et AutoCAD.
• Avoir une bonne connaissance de Microsoft Word et Excel.
• Faire preuve d’un excellent sens de l’organisation et être capable de gérer plusieurs projets simultanément.
• Posséder de solides compétences en communication en français, tant à l’oral qu’à l’écrit.
