Are you an experienced civil construction leader who knows how to run a jobsite with precision and accountability? We are hiring a Project Lead for a direct placement role in Charles Town, WV.
In this role, you will serve as the operational anchor for site development and underground utility projects—managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and municipal inspectors in HeavyJob, while retaining the hands-on skill to operate heavy equipment when the job demands it.
Key Responsibilities
- Multi-Crew Leadership: Schedule, direct, and mentor multiple field crews across site prep, bulk earthmoving, and underground utility installations (storm, sanitary, water).
- Budget & Schedule Accountability: Manage daily project costs and schedules, optimize labor and machine utilization, and track production in HeavyJob.
- Subcontractor & Inspector Coordination: Coordinate subcontractor workflows and build working relationships with municipal inspectors to secure project sign-offs.
- Hands-On Field Operations: Lead from the front by operating heavy equipment when needed—including excavators, dozers, loaders, haul trucks, and pipelaying equipment.
- Safety & Daily Reporting: Enforce OSHA safety standards, track daily logs and job yields, and maintain site compliance.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years in site development and underground utility construction.
- Leadership Track Record: 2–3 years of experience running complete civil projects and directing multiple crews.
- Software & Equipment Skills: Hands-on proficiency using HeavyJob; practical ability to operate dozers, loaders, excavators, dump trucks, and pipelaying gear.
- Certifications: OSHA 10 required (OSHA 30 preferred) and Trench & Excavation Competent Person Certification (Preferred)
