Agitator & Tipper Drivers

We are looking for HR & HC Drivers to work across our South Australian Readymix and Quarry businesses in the following locations: Port Adelaide, Magill, Lonsdale, Smithfield and White Rock Quarry

Drive and Provide

Driving a concrete agitator truck for Heidelberg Materials Australia is more than just going from A to B and back again. Our Agitator drivers provide high levels of customer service to our clients receiving our products, becoming the face of our business. As an Agi Driver, you will be making multiple deliveries throughout the day and interacting with lots of different people. Every day will be different, there’s nothing routine about this role!

Driving a truck and dog tipper for us is great role too, especially if you enjoy having a little bit of variety in your day, but you also enjoy a bit of routine. On some days you will be meeting with new customers but on others you will be seeing the same faces as yesterday. You don’t have to be a customer service super star, but it would help if you can hold a conversation with our customers when you need to.

About the role:

• Most days will start between 4am and 6am and drivers can do up to and over 10 hours per day, and around 50 – 55 hours per week. Saturday work is generally available, paid at overtime rates
• We pay a base rate and once you go past your regular hours in one day the first two after that will be at time and a half. If you do more than 2 hours overtime in a day, you go to double time. Meal allowances are generally paid after 10 hours in one shift
• As we mentioned, driving an Agi is like being a Customer Service Agent on wheels. You will be dealing with lots of different personalities every day, so you need to be comfortable interacting with people you haven’t met before
• We provide cutting edge technology to not only keep you safe whilst driving, but also to help you map your routes and keep track of your loads
• All new starts go through a 10-day training program before we let you loose by yourself

About you:

• Minimum of HR license (essential) with previous driving experience (preferred). HC is required for Tipper driving roles
• You enjoy meeting people and having a chat with them when you’re onsite
• You prefer variety in your working life. No two days are ever the same when you’re driving one of our Agi trucks, but they could be in a tipper
• You take pride in the appearance of your truck. Keep it clean, give it a wash and present the best image of our company. You are a mobile billboard and people notice a dirty truck
• Able to pass a pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol test (random testing is also conducted on all Heidelberg Materials Australia sites)
• Some of our trucks have driver weight limits on their seats and seatbelts. For safety reasons, you may be required to be under a specified weight for these trucks
