We’re looking for an experienced Asphalt Paving Operators to join our Waikato Paving Crew in Hamilton. You’ll operate paving plant, support safe and efficient asphalt works, and help deliver quality results across the Waikato region. You’ll be joining a down to earth crew that backs each other, holds high standards, and takes pride in doing Good Work.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

This is a site-based role working across a range of asphalt paving projects. You’ll work outdoors in a practical, team-focused environment where safety, quality and reliability matter. Your work will help build and maintain the roads and surfaces our communities rely on every day.
 

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

• Operate paving machinery including asphalt pavers, rollers, skid steer loaders and other equipment.

• Prestart check and set up equipment to keep work safe, efficient and up to standard. Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the equipment.

• Engage in paving works to ensure asphalt is laid to the required quality standards.

• Take part in pre-start meetings and follow safe work practices, with a clear focus on hazards and risks.

• Proven experience operating asphalt pavers, rollers and or skid steer loaders in a construction environment, including the ability to safely and accurately lay asphalt to the required width, depth and finish.

• A Class 2 Driver Licence with WTR endorsements, with Class 4 preferred.

• Confidence working in a fast-moving, team-focused crew.

• Willingness to support labouring duties and work hands-on outdoors in varying conditions.

• Flexibility to work day shifts, night shifts and weekends when required.
