MercerDescription:
Mercer is seeking a Consulting Manager, Transformation and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) to join our team in Singapore.
Our Human Capital consultants help clients design the future of work through business transformation, operating model redesign, organizational change, and M&A advisory. This role will support clients in evaluating the human capital implications of large-scale transformation initiatives and M&A transactions, helping organizations manage complexity, accelerate value capture, and deliver sustainable change.
The successful candidate will bring experience across both transformation and M&A, with the ability to advise clients on organization design, HR strategy, change management, culture, workforce implications, and integration or separation planning. This is a senior individual contributor role requiring strong project delivery capabilities, commercial acumen, and the ability to coach junior team members while managing complex client engagements.
We will count on you to:
Work closely with Engagement Managers, Market Leaders, and project teams to deliver high-quality client solutions across transformation and M&A engagements.
Support and lead client engagements across the full project lifecycle, from diagnostic and strategy development through implementation and execution.
Advise clients on the people-related implications of business transformation programs, including operating model changes, organization design, workforce strategy, and change management.
Support pre-deal and post-deal M&A projects, including HR due diligence, integration planning, separation planning, culture assessment, synergy/value capture support, and stakeholder management.
Contribute to the development of client recommendations, presentations, reports, and other deliverables that align with business objectives and drive successful outcomes.
Participate in client-facing discussions and business development efforts to identify opportunities, shape proposals, and support growth in the market.
Collaborate across Mercer and broader Marsh capabilities to bring the right subject matter expertise to client solutions.
Prepare periodic reports, analyses, and insights to help manage and grow the Transformation and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) consulting business.
Coach and support junior team members, contributing to team development and knowledge sharing.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and quality standards across project delivery.
What you need to have:
Prior experience in HR M&A consulting, HR & organization transformation, and/or change management.
Proven experience managing or supporting complex consulting engagements in a client-facing environment.
Strong understanding of the human capital aspects of M&A, including due diligence, integration, separation, culture, organization design, and change implications.
Experience supporting transformation initiatives such as operating model redesign, organizational effectiveness, workforce strategy, or enterprise change programs.
Strong commercial acumen and understanding of deal and transformation environments.
Excellent problem-solving, research, and analytical skills.
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop clear, executive-level materials.
Attention to detail and strong project management discipline.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
What makes you stand out:
Prior experience working across both M&A and transformation projects in a consulting or advisory environment.
Exposure to regional or cross-border engagements across Asia.
Ability to connect strategic business priorities with practical people solutions.
Confidence in working with senior HR, business, and transaction stakeholders.
A collaborative mindset and interest in helping build and grow a high-performing practice.
