FY27 PI ENGINEER (Process Integration Engineer)

At Micron Technology, Process Integration (PI) Engineers play a critical role in bridging technology development and high-volume manufacturing. We are looking for talented engineers who are eager to drive process excellence, enable next-generation memory products, and leverage AI-driven solutions to transform semiconductor manufacturing.

As part of our Process Window Engineering (PWE) organization, you will have opportunities to influence technology decisions from early NPI development through production ramp, working closely with global engineering teams across multiple manufacturing sites.

What You Will Do

Advanced Process Integration & Technology Development

• Establish, optimize, and continuously improve semiconductor process conditions and technology.
• Drive process capability enhancement, yield improvement, defect reduction, and cycle-time optimization.
• Define and maintain critical process windows to ensure robust manufacturing performance.
• Support new technology node development and product qualification activities.

NPI Reticle and Layout Management

• Lead reticle strategy planning and management throughout the NPI lifecycle.
• Identify opportunities to simplify reticle architecture and reduce overall reticle counts.
• Collaborate with Design, Development, and Manufacturing teams to enable efficient reticle implementation.
• Drive layout optimization initiatives that improve manufacturability while reducing operational cost.

Innovation and Cost Reduction

• Develop creative engineering solutions that improve product quality, productivity, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction through process simplification, reticle optimization, and technology innovation.
• Participate in cross-functional projects focused on sustainable operational excellence.
• Contribute innovative ideas that deliver measurable business impact.

Data Analytics and AI-Driven Engineering

• Utilize AI-assisted analysis tools to identify process weak points and improvement opportunities.
• Apply advanced data analytics, statistical methodologies, and automation solutions to accelerate decision making.
• Develop dashboards and engineering insights that provide a single source of truth for process performance.
• Leverage machine learning and digital transformation initiatives to improve engineering productivity.
• AI Relevant Job Responsibilities:

\- Integrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.

\- Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one’s scope of work.

\- Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and role‑appropriate AI literacy to use AI‑enabled tools responsibly and effectively for research, analysis, content creation, problem‑solving, operational tasks, and achieving business

Cross-Site Collaboration

• Partner with global teams across multiple manufacturing sites to align process strategies and best practices.
• Lead technical discussions and engage in routine cross-FAB collaboration activities.
• Support technology transfers and manufacturing alignment efforts across global operations.
• Influence strategic decisions through technical expertise and data-driven recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Passion for semiconductor process technology and continuous improvement.
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, process integration, yield enhancement, or process engineering.
• Understanding of statistical process control, data analysis, and process optimization methodologies.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools, automation, or data visualization platforms is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across organizations.
• Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
