Job Summary
As a Senior Financial Analyst (FP&A), you'll be a trusted business partner helping drive strategic decisions and business performance across the organization. In this highly visible role, you'll transform financial and operational data into meaningful insights, influence key business initiatives, and support leaders in achieving their goals.
Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, you'll play a pivotal role in forecasting, planning, performance management, and financial reporting while helping shape the future direction of the business through actionable, data-driven recommendations.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead financial role supporting the functional heads in the areas of finance, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning to support global initiatives.
- Work with functional leadership teams to develop detailed, accurate, and timely budgets/forecasts.
- Lead automation initiatives for the budgeting and forecasting process using Excel, financial systems, and reporting tools. Drive improvements in efficiency, accuracy, and cycle time.
- Provide financial support and analysis for capital investment projects, including cash flow and return on investment analysis.
- Develop and maintain break-even and cost-per-batch analysis by manufacturing line to support capacity planning, pricing decisions, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Evaluate financial statements and provide recommendations.
- Analyze and report on client- and project-level profitability, partnering with operations and project management to identify margin drivers and ensure profitability targets are met.
- Develop financial models and scenarios.
- Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Develop cost controls and expense targets, manage and report on progress.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and useful financial and management reporting to both the internal organization and parent company (AGC Japan).
- Provide guidance and oversight on time registration practices across manufacturing and project teams to ensure accurate labor cost allocation and reliable client profitability reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and projects.
- Develop and monitor KPIs critical to the business, monitor performance, and recommend actions to enhance operational performance.
- Provide financial guidance on customer contract terms and business impacts in conjunction with the global controllership and project management teams.
- Ensure appropriate internal controls and financial procedures.
- Participate in the coordination of financial audits, SOX Controls and other projects as needed.
- Actively monitor financial risks and ensure that risk mitigation strategies are in place.
- Interact with external consultants, auditors, and insurance representatives.
- Identify key priorities and problems, obtain relevant information, identify root causes, and generate alternative solutions to reach sound management decisions.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- BA/BS in Business, Finance, or Accounting with an MBA strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a finance analytical role, preferably in life sciences.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, manufacturing, or a similar industry.
- Expertise in IFRS/GAAP accounting standards.
- Demonstrated experience automating budgeting/forecasting processes using Excel (Power Query/VBA), Power BI, or EPM systems (e.g., Anaplan, Hyperion, or similar).
- Experience with manufacturing cost accounting, breakeven/CVP analysis, or plant-level financial analysis is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and other financial software.
- Ability to present financial information to non-financial teams.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
FORMALITIES:
Compensation: $94,000 - $129,250, based on experience
Location: Bothell, WA (hybrid)
